Hey guys. Please excuse my ignorance. Why is it so difficult to get CM 6.0.1 to work on the SM-T520? One of the best things about CM is that you can get the latest Android versions to work on otherwise unsupported devices. I'm still running 12.1 on mine. Is it the lack of available developers? This particular ROM is "unofficial". Are there technical limitations?

No drivers from vendor. Samsung chipset has issues with this

Hi guys,

First of all good work for getting android 6 working on this great device.
I`m testing this firmware for a week now and here are my defect:
- Camera not working
- GPS not working
- automatic rotation only in landscape and portait. screen doesn`t rotate 180 degrees.
- it looks like battery is decreasing faster.
- new nightlies aren`t available through the device anymore.

Are you guys still working for this device or will it die softly?

I'm also not satisfied with this builds. But I am not the android developer and have learn much thinks. I am happy that compiling often work.
But the main problem is: TIME for that stuff.

GPS Testing

:D seems that gps could work!

I have some trouble on this:
PRODUCT_COPY_FILES vendor/samsung/picassowifi/proprietary/etc/gps.conf:system/etc/gps.conf ignored
...
and set correct value for gpsd (chmod 775)...

Anyone an idea that this work after compiling? Manually by editing on running cm13 seems to work fine.

I enjoy this last cm13.0 build! Thank you very much!
What about cm14.0 unofficial build for picassowifi? ;)

cm14 sounds nice - I will try if I have understand some things to build cm13 and port to cm14.
I am really fresh on this. At first I was just compiling, now I get gps to work.

We will see!

Deff won't be buying a Sammy device again. I appreciate the work everyone at CM puts in, but it should be Samsung doing the work. If they can't be bothered to update our devices then I can't be bothered to give them my money.

Hope to see CM13 in a more polished state in time like it is on my old t0lte. I'll be watching with interest. Good luck.

This device indeed was completly left over.
And that's the reason why my new phone is not a Samsung (although at the same price the Samsung was better in performance).

Time to catch up I need to install this cm13! Thanks a lot OP for taking on your time.

Gps working.
Very good.
Hopefully the camera next.
Thanks a lot for this image.

PS: Netflix works in this version.
:)
Last item:
Volume knobs not working.
Volume slider pops op with the telephone icon. The volume cannot be changed with up/down volume knob.
Last exercise:
Touch the phone icon and the icon changes and the volume up/down knobs are active. This until next action.
Do it again and it works again.

To rotate 180° go into Settings-->Display and choose the rotation you like.

:)

There is a workaround in xposed framework that was written for CM10 to get Netflix working that also worked in CM12.1 just incase you ever come across a ROM where xposed works, but Netflix doesn't. Just remember xposed isn't supported by the CM devs.

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>

    /*
    * Your warranty is now void.
    *
    * We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
    * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
    * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
    * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
    * you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
    *
    */

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review.

    Before You Post a Bug
PLEASE include steps to reproduce the bug, and a logcat would be nice. If it's hardware related or your device reboots please post your last_kmsg.

    How to logcat?
See here (read up to the end of the "logcat" section).
Upload it to a pastebin, include the link in your bug report.

or if you're on your phone and can't get to a computer:

If you install a terminal (this one works nicely) and type this:
    Code:
    su
then, accept the superuser prompt, and type
    Code:
    logcat -d > /sdcard/logcat.txt
it should save a logcat at /sdcard/logcat.txt. You can change the filename, and it will overwrite whatever exists already at /sdcard/logcat.txt

    How to get last_kmsg?
Copy /proc/last_kmsg and upload the file contents to a pastebin, include the link to that in your bug report

Please feel free to ask questions pertaining to this rom and post bugs or any issues you may run into. Any help/contributions would also be appreciated as my free time is limited. :)

Hey guys sorry for lack of support lately I've been out and about for my job (Military). I will try to get a new build out this weekend. After this weekend I will be gone for a month or so however so don't expect much after this weekend. Camera is a big hassle unfortunately but there are a few things I've been working on like GPU in the case of black screens.
