Unfortunately that would require Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz source. I'm not even quite how the AirView is even partly working...I'm guessing Sammie must have kept some of the source from Google's stock MMS base when they applied their TouchWiz skin, so it's still picking up some of the dependencies.
Damn.. that sucks! I LOVE this app to :crying: I might hafta just live without Air-View!

hey CPA Used the PRE MEA file, didnt work. So i tried to go back to stock... . I cant get my original keyguardwidget to come back on, its still defaulting to the small clock. I have renamed it to remove the .bak, It seems the widget is totally disabled, no edit button no custom text. Ive tried to flash the restore_previous_mms and it didnt seem to do anything. my stock samsung messaging app is working.
The whole reason we recommended deleting the KeyguardWidget.apk was because of this exact reason. For some reason, TouchWiz doesn't like the AOSP MMS and it borks the lockscreen widget to where you can't edit it or anything (as you described above). Thus it's just easier for most to delete it and use a custom lock screen widget like DashClock (which IMO is MUCH better...I'd recommend it to anyone).

I had to do a restore because I was having image size problems. I reflashed this MMS and now when I click on messaging it says app not installed.

I'm on AT&T ShoStock ROM

Were you on an older version of the zip before I added WoodburyMan's image resizing mod? Or are you saying that the newest zip (the one attached to the OP) still had the image resizing problem?

And you're the second person to report the "app not installed" issue. I'm at a loss as to why it wouldn't be showing up...you're POSITIVE that your permissions are correct and that your SecMms.apk is appropriately renamed to SecMms.apk.bak?

Check Settings > More > Application Manager > All and see if "Messaging" is in there?

No, it just shows call or read

That's what it shows when you've received an MMS (including group messages) instead of a regular SMS. Try sending yourself a text that says "test" and then go to your home screen before the text finishes sending, and see if you see the quick reply option then.

I'm freaking unbelievably stupid. After that soft-brick and reflashing my phone's rom last night, I realized today that I never set my phone to allow installation of apps from untrusted sources. After doing this, I was able to drop the MMS.apk from the other thread into system/apps and IT WORKED.

However flashing your zip is still giving me the same issue. This is so frustrating...

Haha no worries...in that case, is everything working for you now? If so, there must just be some weird issue with the MMS in the OP that is modified to fix the image resizing issue. Because other than that modification, it's the exact same apk as in the thread you're referring to.

Try unzipping the zip, delete the Mms.apk from /system, copying the Mms.apk from the other thread into that folder, rezipping everything back up, and then flash that. Assuming you'll want an easy flashable zip for when/if you flash other ROMs.

Yes I was on an older version of your zip, secmmd.apk.bak is correct and I do not have messaging in my app manager.

any fix, aside from a totally new lockscreen widget? I installed Dashclock, and it DOES do much better you were correct about that, ill probably use this from now on. Just seeking closure / peace of mine knowing I can go back to stock widget if I wanted..

Yeah it's really odd how flashing it didn't work straight off the bat since it's the same exact apk. I had to flash your zip and delete the MMS.apk from /system, then install the MMS.apk directly off the other thread. I didn't drop it into /system this time and installed it and that way, it worked.

Took me an entire freaking morning, but I'm so happy now. Thanks so much CPA

I just unchecked the pop up option for receiving a new text and now it works.. apparently you can't have pop up and quick reply. Now I just have to find another way to wake the screen when getting a text...

Definitely love this messaging app vs TW messaging. Awesome work. Is it normal for it to take wayyyy longer to send MMS? Literally says sending for like 5-7 mins before sending. Sometimes even longer when on wifi too. And this is just regular pics

No that's not normal...and I don't think that has anything to do with this particular mod. What are your APN settings?

APN settings?
Settings > Other Networks (under Wifi/Bluetooth/Data Usage > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

You should see one or multiple Access Point Names (APN's)...and whichever one has the dot next to it is the one you are using. Click on the APN and it will take you to its settings...that's what I want to know.
