Just to be clear, do we go through all the steps listed here first ?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043636 and then install CWM over TWR?
Yes, this will be for flashing AFTER you have unlocked the bootloader. Attempting to flash this prior to doing so should do nothing.Just to be clear, do we go through all the steps listed here first ?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2043636 and then install CWM over TWR?
Wow.... let's see how long before you cwm fails you. Twrp > cwm all dayYES! Thank you! I hate TWeRPs
Nice Flashing NOW!!Updated the Known Issue. I think the reason the external SD Card was reported as not working was due to it being exFAT. If anyone has an SD Card formatted as FAT32, it should work fine to read/write to the SDCard. I'll look in to fixing this then, but I don't know if it's possible from my brief searching.
Thank god. I cant stand TWRP. I for stabilityYES! Thank you! I hate TWeRPs
Not everyone likes TWRP, and options are always good. So, I ported CWM to the VZW Note 2. It comes in two flavors, one flashed in recovery, the other flashed via Odin. Pick which ever you'd like and enjoyI'll also work on getting it moved to an official version then as well. If people would like to continue seeing stuff from me, I will need to actually get a Note 2 at some point, and you can help by clicking here.

I've read through a few places and didn't see anything concrete, or enough info to feel comfortable without asking first, my apologies first for the noob question, and thanks for the recovery image!!
After using Adam Outler's process for flashing Odin-Revision3, Casual, rooting, unlocking, TWRP Recovery....What's the best way to flash your recovery image after going through his process and already having TWRP flashed? Would you (or anyone here) help me out with a basic step process for using Odin, and/or using your recovery image Zip file? I know enough to be dangerous (which is doing something stupid) but I could use some basic help since going through Adam's process.
Thanks again for helping to create this recovery image (CWM)...I too would prefer to use this one, like most, CWM has been most common and familiar to use.

I hope you're kidding.Wow.... let's see how long before you cwm fails you. Twrp > cwm all day

Tried it, worked fine.So I can flash this from TWRP?
Chances of bricking just flashing recovery are fairly slim. I included it as an alternative method, but the primary file people should be using is the one to flash in recovery.Imnuts I am curious why did you include Odin file for CWM since Adam Outler tells us not to flash anything once we are unlocked since it can brick our phones. Thanks.

Ok I just wanted to make sure. I know someone will try the odin with unlocked note 2 and brick their device. People never read the directions a lot.Chances of bricking just flashing recovery are fairly slim. No, I do not believe that the items to build touch recovery are available publicly, but if they are, I can certainly build it. So, currently, it is non-touch only. When it goes official, we can get both versions. As for benefits, TWRP can have issues with processing asserts in zip files, but CWM doesn't seem to have the same problem. CWM can also do faster backups of the same ROM after you have done one backup, but initial backups are still slower. Really, it is user preference.is this also a touch recovery?
what are the benefits of cwm over twrp?

imnuts-I've provided two packages, one for recovery flashing (TWRP) and one for Odin/Heimdall flashing. You shouldn't have issues flashing in TWRP, and you can confirm it works right there by rebooting straight into recovery. I haven't seen any reported issues of it not working flashing either way yet. Enjoy folks, and please report any issues you find, unless they are in the Known Issues from the OP.
Thanks for this. I just flashed but I think I like twrp better because of the touch based UI. Is there an easy way to get real back without starting all over? No, I do not believe that the items to build touch recovery are available publicly, but if they are, I can certainly build it.
