hi guys,

so after much hesitation, i upgraded my phone to the latest stock at&t 4.1.2...here is what my config was prior to the upgrade:

Android Version
4.0.3

Baseband Version
I7777UCLE5

Kernel version
3.1.0-rc8-Siyah-v4.3.3-nomswap
[email protected]))

Build Number
IML74K.CLE5

I used to get decent battery life with the above setup...but after the upgrade, betterbatterystats is reporting 7%+ battery loss per hour...in order to narrow in on whats causing this massive drain, i have disabled all of the custom downloaded applications using titanium backup. Despite this, nothing has changed...

before i start to head over to the custom rom/kernel, i wanted to seek out to see if anyone else who upgraded to 4.1.2 is having same issue? and/or if there are any other suggestions on the battery drain?

Thanks for any constructive feedback...

7% per hour is excessive, even on stock kernel.

Read through this thread in the General section to get an idea how to identify and solve battery drain issues. You may need to root the phone first, if you haven't.

Also, if rooted, you can use the application Greenify to help determine and also hibernate applications that drain battery life.

yeah i also thought that 7% was very excessive....i am already rooted, and doing all that i can do identify what is draining the battery...i did see that you had mentioned Greenify in some other thread, shortly after i posted this...since then i have installed that application, and trying to figure out how to use it...

thanks again

Edit: sorry wanted to restate that i have disabled all of the custom downloaded applications...

Greenify is a great app!

If you just recently upgraded to 4.1.2 then you likely updated your Google play services. Google search it. It has been draining battery like crazy on lots of phones.

Try turning off location services or hibernating maps or Google now.
