Is there an echo on the line for anyone here? I don't mean on the users end, but on the other callers end.
I have been doing calls with this ROM and I think the problem is not present anymore, you might feedback from other users though.

Should do the job, the Carbon trees are (atm) based on the SonyAOSP trees. Feel free to try and report back :p
Done. It works, but the rear camera still crashes when actually taking a picture and it doesn't focus at all. I have to say that if it would actually stay focused the quality seems to be a considerable improved compared to previous versions.

For those that want to try it I guess the easiest way is:

1. Download build.prop editor from the Play Store
2. Launch it and search for persist.camera.zsl.mode=1
3. Delete this entry
4. Reboot

EDIT: The flashlight wasn't working at all on this build

So my talk time is very different, if you mean battery drain, its very fine;
up to four days because no GApps-/Playstorestuff, just open source F-Droid. :cowboy:
No bro, when there was echo in calls bug, there was another issue too, your call would have last like 1 minute and 15 seconds then the phone would automatically reboot, is this issue still present?

Would you mind sharing with us the flashing process with f-droid instead of gapps?
With pleasure, thats very simple:
-flash the ROM
-flash SuperSU
-reboot to System
-search with Browser [[email protected]] for download F-Droid.apk + install it
~ or install desired App from USB-Stick/exxtern SD

When I read attached link years ago, it was my farewell to Playstore&Co.
[I hope its available in English too]

I've found this interesting thread showing that there is a way to use TA backup mounted in trim area with unlocked bootloader. We can get camera quality as good as stock. It's like we've never unlocked our bootloaders. DRM fully functional. I'm not a developer but I hope I got it right... I haven't tested it. Sorry for my bad English. :D

Next time you link to the article that just got featured on news portal, please fully read it.

Also, that patch only applies to the stock binaries. All Custom ROMs newer than cm12.1 on the Z3 are using the AOSP binaries.

As mentioned previously in this thread, there are people working an a new stock based bringup (that archievement you linked to is not necessarily needed for that though, as there are cleaner/different ways to fix that on AOSP ROMs that can be built from source). The stock bringup is a very early alpha state, so there is no ETA at all. Its just a proof of concept at the moment.

That's the whole point of that development - to get rid of AOSP dumbed down binaries and instead use stock binaries with custom kernels on custom roms. When that is finalized, there would be no need for 'stock bringup', i.e., stock kernel on AOSP roms...

You miss one important point here. Kernel and blobs are related (remember, there were different blobs even for the 1.2.2 and 1.3.3 3.10 CAF branches for a reason).
munjenis tool is nice, but by far not everything thats needed. The Stock blob copyright protection is way more advanced than that. If TA would be the dealbreaker, then the camera on an unlocked stock phone wouldn't work either ;)

Sure, it loses quality, so it does on AOSP, and a fix for that is needed (can be tobias.waldvogels tool, can be munjenis tool, or something different) but before that there is the need to get the camera working at all, which is done by adding camera blobs and kernel from stock and _then_, because otherwise the other, non TA related blob DRM protection will kick in and the cam will not focus on purpose. Thats completly unrelated from the kernel as well as it is from the TA partition. Check the sonyuser topic on Lineage gerrit. credmgr and some other tools check if they are running into a Sony specific gid (basically they check if they get used on "stock") and so that gid needs to be created (hail google, for showing us how to do that on their own device trees, lol) in order to get cam working. After all of that is done and cam is working, then the TA related DRM stuff can be worked around with whatever tool you desire.

I hope that sheds some light on it.

what is the changelog of the new version? "CARBON-CR-5.1-MOO-WEEKLY-leo-20170208-1751"
Can we have the changelog please.
Because OTA updater don't work for me (Leo) and carbon ROM deletes my recovery each time (TWRP). So it takes time to install it.
Thank you again for this great ROM.
