The same thing happened to me on the first day i brought this phone.
The plastic is too soft. Now, the cover doesn't flush with the back of the phone.
I spoken to HTC Singapore, the customer service told me that it will cost me S$50 - $60 exclude labour and GSTax.....need 5 days to do it.

Well, we are paying for HTC's design fault. I don't expect this type of Taiwanese maker to be as customer orientated as Motorola and Nokia. Even the Korean are better. I had an iPHONE that warmed up about charging, they changed the whole phone without looking at it. i also had this Nokia N97 that has a slight clicking sound when the keypad slides out, they change it when i showed them.

Just take a look at this HTC SENSE.COM. I brought the phone majorly because it has this remote assess control via website...something like the iPHONE...but look at it, beside the fXXking ring back, nothing works. And this is since NOV/DEC 2010. Worse is, they are still adservistising on there website and papers...even TV commercials. They know they have an issue with this remote web...but they just don't care...still continue to deceive the consumer.

Well what to do.....

They have actually said that HTCSense.com is still in development. As for the ring back when the phone is on silent etc, have you tried with a hard reset of the phone? This fixed some issues with mine. I know it is annoying, but it some ways it is the best way to test a service like that.

As for the cover not sitting flush, it is possible to fix that, I had an issue with mine too, and a post on these forums helped me fix it. It's all to do with how you apply pressure when you put the cover on.

As for the price of the cover, that really is ridiculous! An antenna cover is £18.99 from the UK accessory store. Is there anyway you can have it shipped? It's around 40 Singapore Dollars if I'm correct.

I hope you manage to find something mate. And I hope you decide you keep your Desire HD, it really is a damn fine phone. No phone is perfect sadly :( It they were, companies would never sell their next product :p

Hi mate,

Thanks.

The phone is good, but the service sucks. For SIM cover is warped, no way to flush it...i did see some Youtube video on sliding the cover.

For the sense website, only the ringback works. I have everything..from wiping out all the data to factory reset, sad.....still nothing works.

Hi guys my progress:

"Hi,

My names karl,

I recently purchased a DHD (Desire HD) from 3 uk.
after already getting a replacement handset due to hardware issue with the previous unit the replacement handset i have received has developed a issue already, i contacted three and they advised i contact you.
The sim/sdcard cover has split in the centre whilst trying to acsess my sd card ( that coincidently stopped working ) The split seems to go directly through the "antennae" and is affecting my signal.
There are many other DHD owners with the exact same issue, and many have Not received a replacement, Any reason as to why?
I have attached some images for you to look at, if possible may i have a replacement cover please as the unit is brand new and still under warranty.?"

Antenna Cover.

I've been trawling the net for a replacement antenna cover in the brown/mocha which is a genuine HTC part. So far I can't find one. Has anybody got a link that might help?

Thanks

I just wish that someone can make a metal one that matches the rest of the body. maybe it's plastic so it doesn't block phone signal.....
