Hi, I appreciate your input but for me since my system is being installed as system_root none of the regular gapps (opengapps,mindgapps or exlitegapps) managed to install properly.
I solved it by editing the installer.sh of exlitegapps to install to system_root directory and hence I got gapps to install properly...

open_gapps-arm64-9.0-pico-20191120.zip --> installer.sh (dont forget to rename it and opengapps file in winrar and replace the installer file)

ExLiteGApps-9.0_arm64-20191109_v2.3.zip --> installer.sh.exgapps (same as above )

U r correct i modified the installer script to write to system/system but in file explorer it shows 2 system files system and system_root... The above should work properly for you.. Try and report back

After a few other non-GSI and GSI roms I'm finally back on RR v7.0 (ARM64_AB_20191205).
The setup worked flawlessly, flashing from a clean MIUI install on my Xiaomi Mi 9 (cepheus). Only once I was stuck on first boot. A Factory Reset fixed that.

The system works pretty stable so far. Bugwise nothing out of the ordinary (see Phh's Wiki). Magisk and G-Cam with microG run flawlessly.
The feature set is great! Battery life (with aggressive battery management) is by far(!) the best I have ever seen on that device. Stand by drain is about 0,5% to 0,75% per hour, judging by the stock battery info.
Looks like I have finally found my daily driver

I hope that this ROM gets more attention in the feature. Hopefully some security patches to the latest builds, as well.

I was wondering about the "nosu". Looks like both come without root anyway. But not a problem after all, Magisk works fine for me.

You still use this on Mi 9 ? Mine Mi 9 is Only A.

Yes.
There are a few bugs here and there, random reboot when using gps navigation or playing videos for example. But otherwise its pretty stable. I would use a more up to date rom, though.

Is there anyone trying without force encryption? I got the latest firmware here, but each time it always says incorrect when I try to unlock after I set any screen lock (PIN/password/pattern). If I keep force encryption the screen lock works, but TWRP will be unable to decrypt /data (I used a special version of TWRP as there is no official one for my device). Is it possible to use screen lock without encrypting data?

So I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem, but the camera (both gcam and RR stock) display with a blue filter on it. When the picture comes out, it doesn't have the blue filter, but I can't figure out how to drop it. Any suggestions?

maybe it helps,i just installed lineageOS version 15.1-20180626 on my leagoo xrover ,the only way to boot was after installing, wyping the data in twrp and after that it finaly booted.

-in twrp wiping,advance wiping,only data
-then factory reset(maybe not necesary)
-on computer (android studio)in fastbootmode fastboot flash system system-190406-arm64-aonly-vanilla-nosu.img
-reboot in recovery go to wipe advanced wipe and wipe only data
-reboot ...

on my leagoo xrover with original android 8.1 i have til now only this lineageOS version 15.1-20180626 with is also android 8.1 installed,so i am not shure an 9.0 will work(i saw someware that that can be an issu)

just now i installed a 9.0 system and it booted after flashing magisk 20.1

Without magisk you have to flash boot.img from your telephone stock rom, before or after you flash custom rom,and also when it shouldnt work with magisk(20.1)


fastboot flash boot boot.img

reboot in recovery,wype advanced wipe,data then factory reset than boot in system....

worst problems with the custom roms...
-battery status isnt shown correct,-1% and shutting down after pulling out usb plug after a wile when in twrp there is 70% or more in it.
-google wont accept the rom,so you cant update your apps

so i think it isnt worth installing them yet
