A/B slot question

Right now I have PixelDust flashed to slot A. If I flash Lineage 17 to slot B and reboot to that slot, could I have 2 custom ROMs at once? Am I misunderstanding something?

Also, currently TWRP won't mount vendor, will this be an issue?
