Never heard that Samsung have such kind of major issue
Does it mean it can never happen ? S4 exynos in india had heating issues. 6 months later, many updates later, little less problem.

Which is worse ? quick mobo replacement or wait until firmware fixes problem.

Easy to repair the G4. If the parts are available.

I was surfed local forum and all said most of serial number from 505-509 are affected (not just a few units),
most of what ? 'some' people with the issue happen to have devices with number 505-509.

Which is different to saying do not buy a g4 with those serial#s. as most of them have a problem.

If I am LG, I will do a recall instead of to wait us to get problem and then get repair
How many companies have done recalls like this over the last three years ?

There will be a few lemons with any phone. This is why they have warranty with every device.

I lost all my datas, mobile banking etc, That's the sux thing for me, if they do a recall, then the kind of crappy thing won't happen to their customer!
Sorry to hear :(

this is one major reason i want sd card. if it has to go to service centre. i pull the card and give it to them.

i don't do apps for mobile banking only web browser.

So i sent my g4 for repair before christmass due to screen coating issue, today i went to pick it up and had to find out that the screen was not replaced. However, the chech servicecenter staff seem to have had problems reading the german description of the problem or just stopped reading at the 505 in the serial number and just replaced the mainboard. So the device went straight back to repair (this time with a sticker on the display to mark the issue) and i guess i will have to use my i9300 for two more weeks.

So now to my question, i had an unlocked bootloader, but when i turned on the device the bl unlocked banner wasnt there anymore, did anyone unlock the bootloader a second time? Did you then use the file you already had, or did you have to go through the whole process again?

My H815EU (unlocked bootloader, twrp recovery, root, stock Marshmallow ROM) was hit by the bootloop curse...
It was under warranty, so I have brought it to a local shop (LG partner) and the motherboard was replaced by LG for free without any problem. The whole process between the deposit and the pick up was 14 days.
I just received it today and hope I will never ever encounter the bootloop issue again. However... straight back home I have unlocked the bootloader, flashed the latest TWRP recovery and rooted it with the latest SuperSU. Haha

You should be worried if:
- you don't have any backup of the internal storage
- your bootloader is unlocked (because it cancels warranty)
- you don't have another phone while your H815 is being repaired by LG

About the serial number I don't know if you should worry, but I have seen some threads talking about that on xda forums, so search a little bit. I hope you'll find the answer [emoji6]

A co-worker just came to me with a G4 with seemingly this issue. It's a 507 in Canada. Anyone find a solution via LG? Rogers (the carrier) here is less than helpful, just admitting it's a common issue and offering to have it fixed for $80.
