I also have the oneplus 5t and had an upgrade to the S9
I have to agree the experience so far has been disappointing compared to the 5t.
Fingerprint sensor constantly does not recognise and also the face unlock/intelligent unlock is deadful compared to the 5t. It's really running the experience so far. I've had the latest update but still not great.
Have to be honest but so far the 5t walks all over the S9 in the performance stakes day to day and is much smoother. The only thing the Samsung has going for it for me is the smaller form factor and camera.
