Hi All:

I have a problem after unlocking my Cingular USA Treo 750:

The sound goes off by itself, and for no apparent reason. A Soft Reset (with the button next to the SD socket) will bring the sound back, but it will eventually go off again on its own.

Yes, I've checked the switch on top! Yes, I've checked to be sure that TTY/TTD is set to off!

Palm has a software fix for this: http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/audio_alert_update.html but it is only for ATT/Cingular phones with Software Version TREO750-1.13-CNG, which is what is on my phone now.

Since I've unlocked my phone, does the Palm patch still work for me?

I'm under the impression that the sound patch is carrier independent. If your firmware matches the requirement stated at the Palm download webpage, then you should be able to install the patch regardless of which network you're currently using your phone on.
It only matters if you're running another ROM.
FYI, the WM6.1 ROMs do not have this issue.
