So having had the latest update fail due to root and xposed, I decided to go under the hood and uninstall xposed, so I went into the directories and started deleting the files, and renaming the .orig files back.

The end result was a bootloop. Tablet would sit there like a... well let's just call it a brick LOL.

I thought I'd try the tethered recovery on it, and it wouldn't detect it. I thought "well maybe it'll work eventually if I keep hitting enter to refresh devices" so I did, and suddenly on about the 10th try it detected. I used trigger 4 with the latest OTA file which I had downloaded earlier, and told it to install zip.

It sat there for like 20 min with no progress on the bar under the android. When suddenly it said install complete. I rebooted it and Yahoo!!

Went back into tethered recovery and rooted it and reinstalled xposed and I'm happy again.

I'd like to thank Social Design Concepts, and I believe I also saw Vampirefo's name in there somewhere too.

You guys saved my butt... AGAIN.

Thanks.

Hi, I have the same problem, but I'm unable to mount sdcard od extsdcard in tethered recovery. So I don't know what to do.

I had the OTA file on internal in /downloads not on SD
Can anyone help me. Have an ME176CX which will not acknowledge any update to the factory installed KitKat. Someone referred me to this post but I've no idea. It might be my fault as my pad was rooted at the time (RootZenFone) I checked and I stupidly tried 3 times to upgrade before I unrooted and checked again (with no update available). So, can anyone point me in the right direction?
