i9000 - a good piece of hardware, undeniably. But why do we have to root and lagfix it to make it _usable_? Samsung seems to make no effort in fixing this. I hope the just-announced Gingerbread will fix the lag-related problems. Low latency audio is also something that I am looking forward to with Gingerbread -- multitrack audio notetaking on the go!!!

You're saying like we (Galaxy S owners) get the new Gingerbread version of Android.

I trust we will get Gingerbread, since specs between the new Nexus S and SGS are almost identical. BUT if there is no official update after all, I trust the gentle folk here at XDA Developers will see to it that the port for SGS is made

What r u talking bout, fukd up Samsung will never release gingerbread for us. We will have to port it again which will take another 10 months before we get a gingerbread beta. The desire and Droid incredible already have betas in there thread by using nexus s system files. LIKE W T F!!!!!!!!!!! there porting is so easily and I was hoping we would have something like that.
