@raystef66,

Does it mean that soon we will have in download center the 2 following ?
A2017G-O-B02-bootstack
A2017G-O-B02-stocksystem

So that I can use TWRP to upgrade from A2017G-N-B09 to A2017G-O-B02 ?

Thank you.
same question here
Same here
ZTE_A2017GV1.3.0B02_BootStack_by_raystef66
ZTE_A2017GV1.3.0B02_Stock_System_by_raystef66

!!! Not been able to test so someone has to test those 2 files first with twrp3.2.30 (or LOS twrp or twrp3218) though. First backup and test !!!

E N J O Y !

Yesterday evening I messed around with the new update for a few hours. Thanks a lot to @raystef66 for coaching me through multiple failures ;) cheers!

This is what I found:

-Dolby works very well on both speakers and headset
-You can flash TWRP through EDL with Axon7_EDL_Tool. scroll up in this thread I posted a short guide on how to do it.
> I would recommend using Nfound's TWRP; the official build has trouble with mounting partitions and encrypti
-Use Magisk 16.7 with the latest Magisk Manager apk. It will work without any issues.
>Do NOT flash Magisk 17.x as it will throw your phone into a bootloop. If you already did that, you can use the uninstaller and flash 16.7
-You can use P996A04V1.3.0B13_MR2_SD_ssl.zip in TWRP to repair your installation. Just remember it will replace your recovery after the first reboot.
-The camera API .zip from @raystef66 works, I have tested it with GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.2.apk
>I do have some concern about the quality of the picture my phone makes. Pictures taken in dark environments have a lot of "noise". I feel like LOS has better camera quality.

I would also note that the battery life is poor. I have lost 10% in 3 hours of idle. NFC/Bluetooth off, WiFi on. Greenify is installed and is keeping most apps hibernated. I appears to be a problem with the OS. @raystef66 should your A2017X_Jojoc_magiskmodule_v3.2_by_raystef66 work on Oreo? I have it active in Magisk and I have the feeling that it does not help. Can you please advise if there's any point to keep it or if you're considering updating it?

Do you mean noisy pictures from gcam, stock or both?
Also, were you able to test if system is writable? For example, does a simple build.prop edit via any file manager app stay even after reboot? Or does it revert back?

@rzarectha
No problem to have given you some help :good:
I would advice for the A2017X_Jojoc_magiskmodule_v2.1 to use on this stock. It will work as on Nougat. I still use it when i'm on AEX8.1.0 from time to time and gives me nice results.
The v2.1 does focus even more on battery. So for the time being, use this instead of the v3.2.

after rebooting the phone with disemmcwp, editing the build prop and rebooting, I found that the changes are being reverted. unfortunately the system is not writable.

about the pictures, I just made 1 with the gcam and one with stock. gcam is a lot lot better.
I did change in the app's setting the HDR+ parameters from Default(lowest) to Super High. It takes a few good seconds to process the picture but the improvement is visible.

Hmm, then i hope that one of the devs will be able to modify the bootstack and remove the system protection.

About the stock cam, is the picture quality worse/better than nougat or did it stay about the same?

I would say that the stock camera is exactly the same, I do not make a lot of pictures though so I would encourage someone else here that likes making pictures to give their feedback on the camera.

I just updated my phone (I removed sim and microsd card before updating, and I still get: New SanDisk card detected, and the annoying configuration as external SD storage, after every restart). The phone did not boot automatically after update, so I was worried a little.
After update security program Malwarebytes, report this:
Android/Adware.Cootek
data/app/TouchPal_O.apk
TouchPal 2017
Btw after every updates on my phone, I found this after scanning and always I choose unistall TouchPal, because I use my phone for Internet Banking, online payments, and may other things. C'mon ZTE you can do better.
Fingerprint unlock works like a charm, so I don't understand, do I miss something or I "read it wrong" ?
The interface from Nougat for stock camera it's changed.
No cry from me, for ZTE launcher, I made the switch to Nova launcher, long time ago.
I didn't factory reset, because I need to see what's good and what's wrong. I know that it's recomended reseting after major updates, but I want to have a point for comparation .
Daydream and Treble, I wait for you...who knows.
That's for now.

Sorry if my english, cause bleeding in the ears.

So after a restart of your phone your SD card is recognized by music players? I get "Samsung SD card recognized" on every restart and I have to configure it as an external SD storage that is so annoying. (I didn't unplugged SD card before ugrade)
Yes it is. But I managed to fix the Dolby Atmos bug by factory resetting the phone. Seems like there was some problems during the upgrade process.

You lose Daydream compatability and some stock apps and some apps are replaced with Google ones, for instance phone, messages and contacts.

My user data is kept. Didn't lose any call, message logs, pictures etc.
