do you know if my phone would support firmware for the europe a54 or something?
If you have a carrier locked US model there is nothing you can flash in ODIN to unlock the bootloader, as odin packages dont touch the bootloader. Best you can do is hope an exploit gets found or return the phone.

Might I ask how you managed to flash a different firmware version? What method did you use to flash the A546U1 firmware?

I ask because from what I understand, the A546U version does not have the option to unlock the bootloader and in order to flash anything at all (including another stock firmware), you must first unlock the bootloader.

If you're trying to do this on a US variant then it won't work
Do you know the reason behind this?

Because my understanding is that having a locked bootloader is the only thing preventing me from flashing a ROM on my US version (A546U).

What else is preventing me from flashing a stock official firmware on my A656U using the method you're referring to.

So do you still need to wait for few months to be eligible to request for carrier unlock after you flashed unlocked ROM?
I believe by successfully flashing an unlocked firmware, you are essentially "unlocking" the phone from it's previous carrier and are then able to take the phone to whatever carrier you want.

One issue you MIGHT run into is whether or not the carrier you want to migrate to is either CDMA or GSM only because i THINK your phones hardware is either compatible with only one or the other...

If you state specifically what it is youre trying to accomplish i may be able to offer some insight.

No, flashing to a different firmware from ANY country will not remove a network lock from your carrier.

Even if you could unlock the phones bootloader, and flash a custom ROM like LineageOS, that STILL wouldn't magically network unlock your phone.
