AAC Bluetooth mod

I'm a recent proud owner of the P20 Pro.

Fabulous device EXCEPT for the Bluetooth.

Reason being, I own a pair of Sony WF-1000X that uses the AAC codec. But it seems that the AAC codec is not supported on the phone and the audio-video is severely out of sync. I emailed Huawei asking about this and they said the phone only supports APTX, APTX-HD, LDAC and HWA. My impression is that Oreo supports AAC but it is not the case with the P20 pro. In development settings, even selecting the AAC settings do not stay.

My question is whether flashing magisk along with the audio modification library or viper4android help in getting the AAC codec installed?

I know it's in the developer settings. But when you select it, it doesn't stay. It defaults back to SBC.

Do you have this issue?
Hmm i have both the WF and WI 1000x as you can see the WI connects via LDAC but it shows sbc for the other. I do remember prior to the recent update it did used in say AAC but yeah looks like SBC :/

the only option that can be marked is the sbc audio codec

all the other cant be selected.
I believed they have disabled the other codecs in the freebuds. We will have to wait for them to provide a firmware update to see what happens.

If this HUAWEI Sport Headphones support aptx, i see no reason why the free buds do not.

This is my one annoyance with the P20 Pro, the free Bose headphones that was part of the pre-order also remains on SBC and doesn't switch to AAC. My budget £40 ones support APT-X and works with that but rather use the Bose for obvious reasons.

I reported to Huawei and got a case number, that was two months ago. Don't hold your breath. It really saddens and angers me when any phone manufacturer can't be bothered to resolve the issues when reported to them.

I heard that build had been pulled?
I'm on it
What was the reason for the pull? ?

On 131 firmware, AAC works fine. I can switch between it and SBC and it stays on whichever is chosen. The audio also has a brief pause when it's changing codecs, so it's definitely working. (This is with Jabra Elite 65t's.) It defaults to AAC.

I am on C432B131. I tried to change to AAC but do not stick on. Whatever I select, it doesn't move to any other options other than SBC.
Same for me and on my JBL headset I have nothing but stuttering and cutouts. This is crap! And, it's impossible to change codec. It reverts to SBC no matter what.
