My Poco F3 stopped connecting last week for the first time. I had been using AAWireless every other day for over a month with no issues. The LED was flashing green and I could see it listed in available wireless connections on the phone, but it was asking for the password when I tried to connect manually.

I unpaired the Bluetooth connection and tried adding it again (+ Add new) in the app without resetting or clearing anything and it's been working fine for a week.

I use Samsung Z Fold3 with Ford Ecosport, my AAWIRELESS is version hSRIZ03c. When I received it, it was on 1.7.0 firmware and everything was OK. But now after upgrading to 1.7.1, I have unpleasant issues: when in incoming calls, either I and who calling cannot hear each other, I must change audio output to speakers of my phone to hear and speak. Outcome calls are normal. I tried reset my AAWIRELESS but it didn't work.
Anyone has the same problem? How to fix that issue? Or how to downgrade to 1.7.0.
Thanks

I actually unpaired my car yet everything still seems to work fine. The only problem I have now is that my USB stays powered on after shutdown and so my phone will try to connect to it after I'm out of the vehicle and in the house... The start stop function does not work with the vehicle unpaired
Try this: In the BT connections setting, hit the gear box next to your smartwatch and press disconnect from call audio. This will leave your watch connected for data and syncing. I can now connect my car BT and my AAWireless BT without disconnecting my watch.

I know but I want to be able to answer calls on my phone when not in the car, e.g. working and don't want to get phone out of pocket...

Many people have this problem too, I've personally had this bug since I changed my HU last year even with wired AA (phone is galaxy s10+), now the same with AAwireless, so I think this bug isn't because of AAwireless but AA and/or HU/phone. I already tried many things but still can't fix it because it's intermittent

Try to delete AA Cache and delete the car from your Bluetooth devices. Afterwards do a new pairing.

I have had AAWireless working for a while now. I recently upgraded my phone to the latest Pixel 6 pro. I tried to connect to AAWireless and it says "tap screen to start android auto" in the AAWIreless app but i can never get it to start on my headunit...

I also noticed during the setup with my new phone that it deosnt connect to the AAWireless wifi and i cannot get it to connect to the AAWireless wifi no matter what I do...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

So I am having a issue now with my AAWireless. I have a Gen1 ( AAWireless-z6L9biOU ) unit I am pretty sure on version 1.7.1 firmware. Up until today I have had zero issues. What happened today was is the firmware in my 2016 Mazda CX-9 was updated to the latest version of firmware NA_74.00.230A. Previously the Mazda firmware was NA_70.00.21 I believe. Now that this update is installed Android Auto only works with a cable connection. When I have my AAWireless device connected my phone connects to it but Android auto never comes on on the cars screen. I have tried resetting the AAwireless device, removing / reinstalling the app on my phone and going through setup and factory resetting my cars head unit with nothing working. It seems like the AAWireless device is working as far as my phone seeing it and my phone telling me to select Android Auto on my cars screen but the option to do that never shows on the head unit. Does anyone have any advice that can share? I don't think it is possible to downgrade the cars firmware back to the previous version. If anyone knows that this is possible or not please let me know. I tried sending a bug report but the app just stalls on downloading log files and never completes.
I wanted provide an update on this to see if anyone has any idea. I ended up downgrading the firmware on my cars head unit to the version that was working perfectly previously. I still have the same situation. Using a cable to my phone AA works perfectly. Using the AAwireless device, my phone connects and prompts me to open AA on my cars head unit however the icon to click on the head unit screen is not there. This behaviour only happens when using the AAWireless device. I am thinking now this is a Android 12 issue and perhaps something updated on my phone around the same time the firmware in my car was updated. Is there anything I should be doing to provide logs on this? There is not really an error I suppose on the AAwireless side but something seems to not communicating correctly. I will be testing on another car to see if the problem persists or not in the coming days.

We have a support overload since Android 12, it ain't funny... Emil and myself have (almost) zero issues on our Pixel 6s. The only thing I experienced once or twice is Bluetooth cutting out on the Pixel, have to reboot the phone to get it to work again. Stuff is broken for sure... For some it works fine, for others with seemingly exact the same situation it does not. We're trying to find solutions, but we're already pretty overloaded with everything going on.

Thanks for working on it. I'm sure your overloaded. I did submit a couple bug reports. Hopefully they are of some help.

Some info that may provide some insight to others. I'm using an Xiaomi note 9s (Curtana) and while running MIUI EU 12.5 I have issues with AAW after a call ends it plays through my phone's speakers instead of the headunit speakers. This is a well known bug from MIUI. I tried flashing a few different android 11-12 ROMs and ALL had issues with AAW from aosp ROMs to official lineage os (android 11) and gave up on the idea of a bug free experience.

However, I flashed a build of MIUI EU 12.6 and I now have a BUG FREE EXPERIENCE of AAW - no dropping out, calls work without disconnecting/sound going through incorrect sources etc.

My point being: this is XDA - we flash different ROMs some of which are buggy to high hell. If you're having issues with your phone and connections etc please try using a stable ROM or change your ROM to check if you have any luck connecting/resolving bugs. There are plenty of aftermarket ROMs here where android auto via USB functions great but wireless is bugged (looking at you lineage os) just my two cents

Good pont. In my case my issue is on a stock TMobile Android 12 ROM. Hope to test in another car in the next few days to see if this is isolated to Mazda head units or something specific with the phone / AAwireless device.

Hello. No my issue is different. My phone is connecting to bluetooth and to the AAWireless wifi without any issue. My issue is that the icon to press on the headhunt screen to switch to Android Auto does not show up while using AAWireless. It shows up fine when connected directly via cable from my phone to the car. My phone is not running a custom or beta ROM. I was on the android 12 beta from Samsung and it worked fine. I was then on the official Android 12 ROM from Samsung and it was also working fine. This is the ROM I am currently on still. My car is now on 70.00.367 for reference. I would like to get a copy of NA N_70.00.021A as it is what I was originally on but can't find a copy. 70.000.367 is the closest I can find in the 70.00 series Mazda firmware. I

Basically my problem is as follows,

Direct connection with cable from phone to car:
1. Phone recognizes connection and say android auto is available.
2. Car shows phone connected and Android Auto automatically starts.

Connection via AAWireless
1. Phone connects to Car Bluetooth and to AAWireless wifi.
2. Phone says Android Auto is available and to select it on my car.
3. Car does not switch to Android Auto and the Icon in the upper right corner of the screen that switches to Android Auto is not present.

What I have done.

1. Rolled back my cars firmware to 70.00.367 firmware which is a different version of the 70.00 series but its the best I could find. The problem started when the dealer updated the car to 74.00 based firmware. After roll back the problem is still present so I am not sure if it is the firmware that is the issue.

2. Reset the AAWirelss device and re-setup and the problem is still present.

3. Wiped the system cache on my phone and the problem is still present.

What I plan to do still.

1. Try the AAWireless and my phone in another car. If the problem does not follow then I will assume it is something still with the Firmware in my car. If the problem does follow then I will assume it is something either with my AAWireless device or my phone, or both.

I have a Pixel 5 running Android 12 and a 2020 Genesis head unit (same as Hyundai??), and am also having trouble with AAWireless not patching phone calls through to my audio system. To its credit, AAWireless gives me a seamless connection to Android Auto (maps, music, etc), but whenever I get an incoming phone call or initiate an outgoing call, the only audio I have is through my phone, so the only audio I can hear is if I switch to speaker phone, and then I can just hear it from the phone in my pocket!

Has anyone figured out this glitch??

Sorry, I should have mentioned, I am running AAWireless v 1.7.1. Also, I have tried several re-installs, including erasing Bluetooth settings for my phone and the car head unit, but none of this seems to help.

@Emil Borconi @Snirpo, not sure if this is on your radar yet, but your alpha app expires on Firebase in 7 days, so you'll either have to reupload it as a "new" release or rehost it elsewhere.

Thanks for the head up! Last half year has been well... Pardon my words, utter sh*t. Juggling with components, mistakes from the Chinese side, mistakes from our side. So sadly there has been very little to no work on the app. In general the current Play Store app works fine. One reason the alpha app hasn't been released yet is because of the start / stop mechanism being not good enough. Getting it to work correctly on all phones is tricky. And getting it to work all the time is even trickier. Also in Android 12, Google changed stuff which makes it even more tricky (they removed car mode).
Anyways, it seems the Motorola dongle uses another way to start up Android Auto, which is like a built in AA start / stop mode. We are figuring out how to get this working. That will be way better then us trying to hack around Android limitations.
Also apart from the start / stop mode we are working on a 2.0 companion app, with a refreshed UI. I expect we can release it soon.

    Hello,

I've recently acquired one of these AAWireless units and it has mostly been plug and play with my car (which is great), but have noticed some latency in audio and maps navigation.

    Oneplus 8 Pro
Subaru Impreza 2017 Stock Headunit (Starlink) - AUS
    AAW FW: 1.8
    AAW Device: AAWireless-W2fzdMM7

The device only connects to my headunit in MTP plus retry mode (any other mode causes Android Auto to endlessly spin looking for the AAW unit).

Spotify streaming works (albeit with occasional music jumps every few seconds), Plex music streaming stops after 10 seconds with the phone showing "error playing content" and Google Maps has about a 2 second delay in navigation readouts (using the cable to the same phone in the same car does not present any of these issues).

I've tried submitting a bug report, however it seems to cause the AAW unit to reboot as the headunit loses AA connectivity. The app suggests to press the AA button on the headunit in the car but this option is not available after selecting 'submit bug report'.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. :)

EDIT: I have also tried with passthrough mode enabled and that made no difference.

I noticed this also was really hoping for an app update by now it's been a long time. Really need pick your device setting since my wife and I are both in a car a lot at the same time it never works properly.

Yup, bumping the question:) As I've wrote earlier on this thread - on my S20 and S9 I am getting my AAW restarting after connecting to my VW's dash. Checked in two VW cars with the same result. Works just fine in Mazda tho (or at least does not crash right away - did not make any long run on this car).

    cheers

This thread is dedicated for AAWireless users.

AAWireless is a device which allows you to transform your existing wired Android Auto compatible unit into a Wireless Android Auto unit.

General chat, experience sharing and community support should be expected as well as support from the developers of the product: @Snirpo and myself.
    16
I just want to leave a big THANK YOU for the developers! You invented a great product and do a great job here.

Anyone who has ordered the product knows that it is a crowdfunding project, which may also have teething problems. I find it cheeky to get upset about problems, even though they are dealt with promptly here. What more should the distributors do than react to the problems here and offer solutions?

I also have problems with the device, but I was helped quickly. Even if it takes a few days.

Dear team: Keep up the good work!
    15
We fixed the "VW Headunit crashing on skipping tracks" issue now completely. Confirmed it's a bug on the HU side, latency makes it worse. We will probably push a new firmware by the end of this week.
I will also submit a bug report to Google, cause they can fix/workaround this issue as well for cabled users.

I've already waited patiently for delivery 3 months more than expected - I ordered In April and was coming in June but now that's looking like October. Now I read on the indiegogo forum that people in the UK are being charged an additional €27 by the Royal mail as the UK is now not in the EU.

    Hi Emil!
Just received my AAWireless, and will plug in and test tonight. Love the packaging, looks great! However… Since it was shipped from Hong Kong I was forced to pay a rather substantial import fee and duties on this bad boy. I was under the impression that they would be shipped from within the EU? Is it stands now I’m EUR 27,00 poorer :(

Looks like you are in the UK which is outside EU and also there is no way to pre-pay taxes with shipping company any more either....

This is a crazy. An additional $10 was already taken for delivery and it was meant to ship from the EU. I suspect the units have been shipped by Royal Mail / Dutch post. The Royal Mail rips off people in the UK because they add another £11 in admin fees on top of the 20% VAT even though goods up to £135 should be exempt.
    See https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...s-goods-sold-to-customers-from-1-january-2021

So not only has VAT been charged coming into the EU from China, it has also been charged coming into the UK ON TOP of the VAT already paid in the EU.

This is just rubbish. What the guys need to do is either ship it from Hong Kong which can cost £0.20 (there are hundreds of chinese ebay and aliexpress sellers doing this already
    See http://www.vatfraud.org/blog/stop-s...ons-universal-postal-union-upu-terminal-dues/
The $10 postage already taken should then be refunded.

The other way round it is send the item from Hong Kong and to mark the item as a gift and providing it is below £39 there is NO VAT to pay and NO Royal mail admin fee. Actually as the original product was $57 - roughly £41.25 This wouldn't be a crime seeing as we have had to wait soo long. This could also mean the $10 delivery could be refunded

The other way is to ship it via fedex and state the ex-vat cost coming from china and then add 20% vat that the developer should be paying to the UK HMRC.

Sadly if that doesn't take place, EVERYONE IN THE UK will feel ripped off because of the poor delivery and poor choices made by the developers.

    Cheers
    Disgruntled in the UK

First of all, your item wasn't shipped yet since in the June batch, so you could have not payed anything for shipping. Secondly, UK is outside the EU, there was a vote about this in 2016, so it doesn't matter if the package comes from EU or from HK or from US, it is treated the same, it's an import. If we import it from HK to EU, we will pay import VAT on the product, then when we send it to UK, we claim back that VAT and we should pay VAT in UK, since there is no more free trading between EU and UK.

Up till recently there was a nice option, to pay VAT and Import duty up-front, when you ship to the UK, but this has been changed and now they requires business outside UK to register with HMRC and do HMRC feeling even if they are residing outside UK, a lot of red tape. Since crowdfunding is not a sale, we can still ship the units to UK, but not sure if we will be able to after the IndieGoGo campaign.

We are also a EU registered company so we cannot (and will not take advantage) of any loop-holes in systems to sell at ridiculously / unrealistically cheap prices.

About the user who paid 27 euros, it turned out that user is living in DK, but provided the address as UK so his package traveled the wrong way, hence the extra duties and surcharges.

Not aware of other users from UK having to pay anything additional when they received the package.

    Hello. What's new in 1.5?
A full changelog for each release would really be appreciated :)
Thanks for all the hard work!
Yes, I'll write a full changelog next week from 1.0.0 to 1.5.0 and put it on GitHub + add a link in the app.
