There is definitely something going on with uconnect. I have a 2020 Durango and the same thing happens.I'm experiencing a similar problem after updating the firmware to 2.0. It seems that the Bluetooth connection doens't complete. Most of the time if I manually go into my phone and make the connection it starts up. Other times, mostly when I am making short trips in and out of the vehicle, it refuses to connect. Using firmware 1.8 and usb MTP connection it was fairly reliable. Still would have connasction problems after short trips, but the next day it would connect without issue. I have a 2020 Ram 1500 with uConnect and a Samsung s10.
I'm in the same situation. Dodge Durango with Uconnect (2018 model). It's very hit or miss, and nearly never reconnects if I'm getting back in during the 1 hour power delay. There is definitely something going on with uconnect. I have a 2020 Durango and the same thing happens.
After getting out and back in before the USB turns off (1 hr delay). It never restarts the Android Auto app on the uconnect.
Mine says it's connected to AAwireless and Android Auto on the phone, but the headunit never switches. Selecting the BT does nothing almost like the button is disabled when you press it but it's not obviously. Saving the AAwireless settings to reboot the device doesn't do anything either.
You have to really mess with it to get it to work, or wait till the next day and it will usually work.
I have a Google Pixel 4a 5g so AA and Android are up to date more then most phones. The same cable works 100% of the time all the time when connected direct so I know the headunit works properly also.
Uconnect is really popular so you think they would figure it out but it's never really worked 100% since I got it.
Apparently not. I moved it to a friend's car to try out, because he didn't see his car listed in the list of known working cars. However, it worked perfectly. If I move the AAW to a different model car, is it necessary to reset it, or do anything special?
Today the error came up even in dongle modeI enabled the development firmware for you.
Hmm this is weird, can you try dongle mode?
For anyone interested. Upgrading to 2.0 fixed the problem described by me. The set Wi-Fi channel is 153. Finally, now everything works as it should at 5 GHz, so far I haven't had any disconnection, it's perfect !!! .I have exactly the same problem. The device disconnects in exactly the same place every day when I go to work. It does not reconnect automatically. Upgrading to 1.8 didn't help. My phone is samsung s21 5g, auto audi a3 8v. I've tried everything including aawireless wrapping with tin foil. Nothing helps always in the same place aawireless disconnects. Any ideas ?
I found the boxes for the two such hubs that I have:This seems like the most feasible workaround for me. What product are you using? Does an unpowered USB hub work or does it have to be powered?
I can't speak for the developers, but new releases of OS system software usually provide new features, which may be required for new software to work.Hello,
I have purchased and AAWireless, and got it 2 days ago, but im having a problem...
I have a good android phone (octa core, 3 gb ram, 64gb storage), but the manufacturer never updated him to Android 9 or up...
Im still stuck on Android 8.1, but that have never been a problem until now!
I can´t instal the AAWireless APP because it says Android 9 or superior...
Why?
I can run all the important apps with no problem at!
The phone is : Vodafone Smart X9
What can be done?
With my very best Regards,
LPC

As I understand it, users don't even need the app in order to use the AAW dongle. It is only needed to change settings. In many (most?) cases the app is not needed. If you need to change a setting, you may be able to borrow a newer phone from a friend.
You do NOT need the app to pair. I've done it several times, & I just pair directly:Hello,
Thanks for your kind reply.
I believe we need the app, to pair the phone to the AAWireless.
Without that you can´t do the pairing process.
hello. You can downgrade via the app now. Please make sure dongle mode is disabled beforehand.
when snirpo has set up a downgrade for you, you just select update in the app and it will offer the 1.8 version as an 'update'hello.
where exactly is the downgrade option?thanks in advance.
1.8 was working perfect for me.
but with 2.0 i have a lot of bluetooth issues
and how i can inform him so i can downgrade?when snirpo has set up a downgrade for you, you just select update in the app and it will offer the 1.8 version as an 'update'
the fact that snirpo has told you that you can downgrade means that he has already set up the app specifically for you, to offer 1.8 as an 'update'!
No problem, I'm kinda used to "I updated my firmware and now it doesn't work anymore" messages. Same story with every firmware update we release. You're back on beta now. Did you try a clear cache and data of AA? Or possibly check if "Unknown sources" is enabled in the AA developer settings?@Snirpo you were correct and I was wrong: Fermata video playback still not available for me.
Sorry to bother you, but could you please allow my dongle to "revert" again to latest firmware (instead of the downgraded one)?
At this point I don' know where to start to track down the issue...
I own a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with latest March 2024 firmware, One UI 6.1, Android Auto v11.4.640814-release and Fermata v1.9.9.
The car is a Ford Ka+ Active from year 2019 (and its entertainment software updates have ended in year 2021).
Blue means working correctly, so you're ok.That sounds good.
While I have your attention, where do I find documentation for the app's multitude of device settings?
Also what color should the device's light be when it is connected and properly working? My device is blue and everything seems OK.
It's not possible right now, we have to implement it. But it's quite some work and it will be pretty wonky with all the screen sizes and stuff.Hey Snirpo,
Thank you very much for the quick response.
I don't like to have Google Maps as start app.
I tried everything to have another app as start app, but did not find a way to change it.
My last hope is to emulate touch inputs on the head unit.
Can you please give me some support how to emulate touch inputs?
Thank you very much.
AA over CP is still very much beta quality. We'll add these issues to our backlog, but right now AA over CP has low prio.Hi all, I have a 2020 Corolla Sedan (USA). This car only supports CarPlay, not Android Android Auto.
We purchased the latest version of AAWireless and enrolled in the beta program to enable AA over CP and it actually loads in the car and looks and works like native AA, which is amazing.
We have 2 problems though which is why I am posting.
1. It takes 1 to 4 "reboots" of the dongle to finally load AA (the light goes through the flashing green and flashing blue before resetting and trying again on its own).
2. Once loaded phone calls through AA are in fast forward and sound like a chipmunk. Occasionally GPS also lags, I'm not using the infinite touch setting.
I've spent hours tweaking the various settings and modes but haven't found a combo that fixes these issues.
Appreciate any guidance!
You seem confused. This thread is for AAWireless, a specific product which plugs into a car or headunit which supports wired Android Auto, and makes it available wirelessly. With this dongle im able to connect AA with wireless on car but i cannot see apps like formata etc. This dongle must be an android box, is there no way to change device developer options?
Two different option. I assume, due the fact, that I only have an NTG5.5 in use, that there is somewere in the menu a selection point, to mark, if it should start automaticly or not. You find find the digital userguide here: https://www.mercedes-benz.de/passengercars/services/manuals.htmlIs there a manual for all the settings/advanced settings?
I don't know what they all do...
Another question I have a mercedes with mbux ntg6. I want to start android auto manually when I click it, not when I press the radio/media button for the car interface. Any ideas how I change it?
I know I should ignore these posts, but these are the comments why I'm honestly considering completely dropping out any forum / reddit / social media. What's the point? We have support, we have warranty, we have a refund policy. It might be "beta" for you, but we shipped over 100k devices and believe me or not, for most, it just works. It's the same thing for all of these dongles. They will not work perfectly for all, there are just too many variables.I used to get the same thing. I believe it is an issue with AA/Google rather than AAW. In any event, I have had to give up on AAW as I can't connect to it/won't update, just sits there with a constant light-blue light. It is a (very expensive) paper weight on my desk now. It is just "too Beta" for my requirements.
I have now got a Carlink 2022 Android box which works flawlessly for me.
