Hello @Snirpo I'm from Italy, and having some issue.

The scenario information are:
Veycle Toyota RAV 4 2022
Device Xiaomi Mi 11T 5G - Android 12, latest official global miui 13 (No rooted)
Google android auto 8.6, trough playstore no beta channel
Device AAW51381c93

1) One time on 3/4 time the AA don't start and need to delete from car and phone the BT and Wifi network, cycle restart of phone, dongle or car

2) Sometime that's happens to while running AAwireless after 30min and have a start-stop AA every 5minutes or need to do the correction on step 1

I have read this forum these days ant find that the best combo is
- USB mode standard
- Dongle mode Off
- Passtrught off
- Start/stop off ( my car don't stop usb power when engine stop becouse hybrid engine)
- Wifi 5Ghz, put ch 149 and region "italy"

Last test i have done yesterday:
Clean data\cache for compaion app and Google AA
remove any reference for wifi-bt from car and phone
Put no battery restriction on Google AA and companion APP (also auto start)
Reset dongle to factory default (UPDATED, sorry i have forgot it first time i post)
Follow wizzard from companion app for first setup for dongle and Google AA.
Unit working flawless

Today morning AA didn't start in any way. Need to put phone on cable, AA started immediatly and after disconnect phone by cable and re-connect the dongle to same cable AA wireless start

I have notice during the falling start of AAWireless there usually one of two by BT or Wireless don't connect, and if l try manually ask for password (mostly of time wifi).

Can i try the new firmware fer EU region?
Is there a way i can provide some debug information?

PS: Cable connection is rock solid, and have used the cable provided by unit to test if was a cable problem.
With previus car (ford ecosport 2019) i have used same unit with another phone (Mi 10T) and the actual phone.
The behavior was the same. cable connection rock solid. AAW sometimes dont start until reset veycle too. I was thinking was a ford problem (very poor infotaiment). Now i think the problem is unit itself, but im pretty sure the unit is fully functional, and is something related to software.

Thank you in advance
I enabled the develop build for your device. Don't think it will help, but you can try :) Please report back it it helped or not.

Maybe @Snirpo can help me with a question. My phone that the bug that makes AAw disconnect when cellular data fails or changes (roaming switching, etc)

Could there be an option to make AA start automatically after reconnecting to the phone? Right now I have to click/touch the AA icon on the infotainment screen.

I have a Peugeot 208, recent model and a POCO F4 with MIUI 13.

Thanks in advance.
This is head unit dependent unfortunately, you can try to set the "Start Android Auto automatically" to "Always" in Android Auto settings, but I'm afraid it won't help.

Oh you're right, I do have AA setup to start when connected but it only makes it ready to show on the display, I still have to select it on the car screen.

Oh well, I just need Xiaomi to fix that annoying bug to have the perfect AA wireless experience, but something tells me it won't get fixed. :(

Short update from my side:
The developer option did not do the trick.

But I found out that I have to start my car to get my car's Bluetooth connected in a certain time frame. It is around 30 to 60 seconds after getting connected to AAWireless.
If I'm too early or too late AndroidAuto does not start. Then I have to force connect the AAWireless Bluetooth device again.
As a workaround I made a Tasker task which force connects to AAWireless Bluetooth if there is no AndroidAuto.

During yesterday it worked out well.
SOFO, mind sending that tasker script or tell me how you did this?
thank you

Profile 1:
The variable CARBLUETOOTHCONNECTED is set to 1 as soon as my car is connected to my phone by Bluetooth. Exit task is to clear this variable.

Profile 2:
Connected to AAWireless Wifi.
Then I start the task in the screenshot as entry task. You don't need the Say and ringer volume commands. It is for my information so that I know that there is a connection error.

If the device is already replaced then there's not much we can do unfortunately. Why it only disconnects after an hour is a mystery to me. Please contact our support at [email protected] for a return and refund. I I guess you bought it from Amazon? I think we can create return labels from Turkey to NL. Not 100 percent sure, but our support guys will know.

Stock update and availability?

Hi AAWireless team.

I like others here that were early backers who love your product. However, when I try to purchase more units via your Amazon page, it's constantly out of stock.

Can we get an ETA on when this might be available to purchase again?

You should try to purchase it via Ebay.

I have also too much disconnection currently.
I thought it was the cable : but using the cable connected directly to the phone it is working fine
I thought it was the car : I changed from Mazda to Hyundai, same issue
I thought it was the phone : my wife has same issue with her Google Pixel
I can have a travel of 800km without issues with phone wired using the aawireless cable
But I can't hope a travel of more than 20km without disconnection with aawireless.
I tried reset, cleaning all wifi / bluetooth connection ... but never solved that.

It reboots itself quickly, so at least there is nothing to do. But that is still annoying.

Did you try changing the WiFi channel to a higher one?

A lot of disconnection issues are solved changing the WiFi channel.

For wifi settings I was in
France > Access point > 5Ghz > auto

I just tried
France > Access point > 5Ghz > [max number available]

I look forward to test that ! Thanks for this.

Note : I have 2 aawireless with same issues, IF wifi channel is the solution, do I have to put a different channel for each ?

I doubt you have the 2 AAWireless dongles in the same car, so I think you can use the same channel on both...

I am sure this has been covered here before and I just don't see it. Mine is working a little more than 50% of the time. Many times, it works when I first get in the car in the morning and then stops working when the phone reconnects to the car or AAW. It does show AA on the screen but there is no menu or homescreen (see photo). The buttons on the bottom that show the AA icons is inactive (I can get some generic information about AA with the other buttons). Doesn't matter what I do. The only thing I can do is scroll through songs that are playing with the arrows.
Any idea what's going on here?
Also, I would love to try the latest beta to see if that helps.
cheers and happy new year all.

This is on a 2020 Nissan Sentra with a Galaxy S22Ultra. AAWwi48ZShe
@ SOFO888,
thank you again for your wonderful help!
I determined that it is the head unit of my 2020 Sentra that is not playing nice. I tried your script and it is working fine. I see it in action both when it works and when I purposely interrupt it, even with a nice female voice in german ;)
But the problem is the connections to both car and the dongle are working fine and the unit is stuck in this state. So the script actually cannot catch anything. The current workaround is to reboot the head unit and it's perfectly fine for some 5 to 10 times until it gets stuck again.
I also tried this with my wife's Motorola dongle and it does the same thing. On her 2023 Rogue it never fails with her Pixel 7.
well, for now I just have to learn to live with it. At least it's working for some 80%.
cheers
Vielen Dank!

Same issue. But worth the try, thanks.
I made contribution of aawireless in October 2020. My assumption is that first deliveries had defaults. Will do some other tries.
I'm sorry to hear that. My AAWireless unit is also from the early batches, I think it's around unit 150ish. I had the disconnection issue, but it was smoothly solved by changing the channel...

It varies alot per region/country. There is no perfect channel unfortunately. Some may have issues on channel 40 (default), some may have issues on the higher channels. In general the higher channels are better though.

You only see the bottom menu bar? That doesn't sound like a car-side issue, but more of a phone side issue. This also happens on Huawei P30 randomly. Very common issue on those phones.

EDIT: Sorry, just noticed your attached photo. It seems like the AA icon is shown, but AA won't show up, but it is actually running in the background. For fun, can you try to enable the "GM fix" in the AAW companion app settings?

I tried everything you said, clearing caches, storage, unpairing, uninstalling, debug, etc. I tried it all a million ways for two hours in my car. This device was fine a week ago when we went from a Samsung Note 10+ to the S23 Ultra on the same Nissan Rogue. I couldn't even do the debug as when I would try it would say could not get debugging status is it powered on? Then sometimes debug started (i think) but when I would go back it would say unable to get debug log or similar. And my device would always disconnect and reconnect from Bluetooth like crazy.

I tried using a phone Sim tool to hard reset the device. I used the app to do the same thing. Using setup it would always look like it was going to work till the end where it would timeout "Looking for Android Auto" in the notification garage door. Then it would send me through troubleshooting. During troubleshooting my device would flash green forever and then sometimes it would stay solid red. I have no clue what is happening here as it was fine a week ago? Please help me out here. We backed you when you were still working on the devices but this is a little much. I thank you for your time and effort though. Let's try round two please.

    Sincerely,

    5th
I'm trying to help. But at some point I have honestly no idea what to do or try.
Every time Samsung releases a new flagship phone, Android Auto starts breaking and our support ticket count explodes. It happened with the S20, 21, 22, Fold 3 and now also the S23 and Fold 4. And this "cheap" dongle always gets the blame, because it cannot be the 1000+ dollar phone.
Anyway, maybe the dongle is broken and it's pure coincidence. So let's try to replace it. Please contact [email protected]. You can mention this post and support will replace it for you.

In my case, I think it was a coincidental carrier/network update that's helped me. I still disconnect when manually disabling data etc, but I've had 2 dropouts over the past few weeks when I would normally have several every day.

The only report that MIUI 14/A13 fixes the Xiaomi issue is from a Mi 11 Lite 4G (Global) user on this forum and there was no video. It could also be the AA beta they are using.
I recorded a special video for you, I updated AA this morning as well and all fine:

    @Snirpo:
One question besides...did you guys find a solution to connect a second phone by bluetooth to the head unit with AAWireless?

    See this thread here:
What they are talking about in this topic indeed possible by enabling "disable media sink", it will remove media audio channel from AA. So the phone will route the audio through bluetooth, when connected.
    1
it does not work for me (v.3.18)
Hmm, for your device the latest certificate is installed on the device. Is there any possiblity to reset / clear devices on the head unit side? Otherwise please try to clear cache and data of Android Auto. Another possibility is to try to enable to "GM fix". I'm pretty sure actually it needs the GM fix.
    1
BIngo! It works with GM fix!
Yeah I remembered from testing in a Citroen C3 this was nessecarry. Without getting into too much technical detail, the main problem is a wired connection vs wireless in non-passthrough mode is detected as a different "car" by AA. And this Citroen head unit (+ GM and some other brands) need a wired connection first to get through the initial AA setup. In passthrough mode wired vs wireless is detected as the same car, so it's not an issue. The "GM fix" hacks into the AA protocol to bypass this weirdness.

We should probably rename the GM fix.

This thread is dedicated for AAWireless users.

AAWireless is a device which allows you to transform your existing wired Android Auto compatible unit into a Wireless Android Auto unit.

General chat, experience sharing and community support should be expected as well as support from the developers of the product: @Snirpo and myself.
    20
I used to get the same thing. I believe it is an issue with AA/Google rather than AAW. In any event, I have had to give up on AAW as I can't connect to it/won't update, just sits there with a constant light-blue light. It is a (very expensive) paper weight on my desk now. It is just "too Beta" for my requirements.

I have now got a Carlink 2022 Android box which works flawlessly for me.
    MG ZS EV 2022
    Galaxy S21 Ultra (not rooted)
I know I should ignore these posts, but these are the comments why I'm honestly considering completely dropping out any forum / reddit / social media. What's the point? We have support, we have warranty, we have a refund policy. It might be "beta" for you, but we shipped over 100k devices and believe me or not, for most, it just works. It's the same thing for all of these dongles. They will not work perfectly for all, there are just too many variables.
    16
I just want to leave a big THANK YOU for the developers! You invented a great product and do a great job here.

Anyone who has ordered the product knows that it is a crowdfunding project, which may also have teething problems. I find it cheeky to get upset about problems, even though they are dealt with promptly here. What more should the distributors do than react to the problems here and offer solutions?

I also have problems with the device, but I was helped quickly. Even if it takes a few days.

Dear team: Keep up the good work!
    15
Very close to release of 2.1.0 now. We fixed the UConnect issue, except for some cases where you still have to re-plug the device, but this is also the case on the MA1.
    15
We fixed the "VW Headunit crashing on skipping tracks" issue now completely. Confirmed it's a bug on the HU side, latency makes it worse. We will probably push a new firmware by the end of this week.
I will also submit a bug report to Google, cause they can fix/workaround this issue as well for cabled users.
