About BK Disabler new update

What's the story with the KLMS Agent licence and relation to KNOX?

I'll do my best to simplify this.

BK Plugin 2, and in effect BK Disabler, piggyback on several of Google/Samsung's Mobile Device Management protocols to allow a User to disable an application package without uninstallation (appPolicy.setDisableApplication).

Samsung has their own Mobile Device Management solution baked into their devices; it's called KNOX.

KNOX License Management System (KLMS) is a part of this solution. It checks to see if the device has the appropriate licenses to activate KNOX in a corporate environment.

They're all interconnected and any warnings you are seeing is by design.

I am trying to disable services so OTA updates don't happen while I use the note 8 for a while before I decide if I want to root it. Obviously I don't want updates to happen and prevent future rooting.

Enable 'Developer Options' (Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Tap Build Number 7 times > Go back to Settings > Scroll down and click on 'Developer Options') and toggle 'Auto Update System' to off.

I see thank you for the explanation. I am aware of KNOX and what its set up to do just didnt know that BK Disabler relies on KNOX services to do what it does.

I just wanted to make sure nothing is tripped in KNOX as a result. I ended up using the older Package Disabler via device owner permission here to get around agreeing to the license since I didnt want to risk tripping any KNOX related protections.

Thank you,

When an Android device boots, it goes through a series of bootloaders before launching Android.

This is somewhat different for a Samsung device as they have altered the bootloader process and introduced another layer called 'Trusted Boost'.

Trusted Boot verifies the integrity of each bootloader. If during the final bootloader check, an alteration is detected at the kernel level, KNOX is tripped.

For KNOX to be tripped, we have to introduce a foreign element at a very early level of the boot process and NOT afterwards.

In contrast, other manufacturers and device types have, throughout the years, had security exploits exposed where low level alternations can be made at the User level.

Our devices, the S8 or the Note 8, are not one of these exceptions (as of yet) so any application you install will NOT have the ability to trip KNOX.

This should quell any further concerns regarding BK Disabler or similar applications.

Of course! It's basically a front end for Samsung's own Knox firewall. Domain blocking, Package disabling, and Permissions enabling, no need to run in background, no battery drain and it's free and open source, the current incarnation of the old AdHell project.
Thanks for this! I've been looking for a replacement to AdHell and AdHell 2 kept crashing my Note 8. Just got this installed and configured. So far so good!!

So the last update of BK Plugin 2 was on Mar 2. 2018, virsion 1.1.5, and the last update for those who want to keep Service Disabler is 1.1.1.

from their web:

"Hello,

If you want to keep Service Disabler function, install both of BK Disabler and the old version of BK Plugin 2 (1.1.1) in the link below and turn off Google Play auto-update app. Thanks!

BK Plugin 2 (version 1.1.1)"

So anyone who wants the Service Disabler function can use only 1.1.1 virsion. Why they don't upload to their web every new virsion, with Service Disabler function? We never get BK plugin 2 update?

My Google apps is always reminding to update BK, since I'm using 1.1.1.

I found something in Bk Disabler

I downloaded MDM extension with service disabler function from here kunkunsoft.wordpress.com/news_2/ (I can't post with url )

When I analyze my phone using Malwarebytes, an infection with a Trojan jumps Android/Trojan.BankBot.rn
is it something I have to worry about?

I used Malwarebytes with deep analysis and alert only appears after using Bk disabler and disabling things

Thank you all for the answers.
So the devs publish this:

"Hello,

If you want to keep Service Disabler function, reinstall the old version of “BK Plugin 2” in the link below and turn off Google Play auto-update app. Thanks!"

Download link:

https://kunkunsoft.wordpress.com/news_2/

Hopping in the next update the devs will upload the apk with service disabler function outside the play store.
unfortunately the link does not work anymore. I also have an N7 and would like to install the BK Disabler. Maybe someone still has the old version? Thanks alot
