Being unlocked and rooted alone will not prevent you from seeing the OTA notification. However, modifications to the /system and/or /recovery partition will more than likely cause the OTA update to fail when you try to install it.

Most people use fastboot/mfastboot to flash a clean stock version of /system and /recovery (assuming you're using TWRP or similar for root access), then take the OTA to get the update. Once updated, reflash TWRP with fastboot/mfastboot, flash SuperSU from TWRP and you're back in business. This is how I upgraded my rooted and unlocked XT1060 from 4.4.2 to 4.4.4.

hello guys

Lollipop coming soon to moto x is currently under tests so my question
if my device is Unlocked / Rooted thats prevent me from any updates ??

:confused::confused:
What @fury683 has posted is the correct answer..

One thing I will caution you about... IF that is Lollipop, you might want to take a wait and see... to make sure rooting is the same. And/Or do some research first.

Initially, due to security changes, rooting lollipop needed a custom kernel. Later that was supposedly solved. But I haven't followed enough to know the complete details.

Chances are good that once you get Lollipop on there, you want be able to downgrade to 4.4.4 or lower.
