I must have gotten the wrong version installed (I think it was an older version from my SD card in my Thunderbolt), uninstalled and put the one from the Market on...and it works! So awesome! About to make the purchase, thanks so much!
Glad you got your videos working

Hi all,

Used to use RockPlayer in fact still do on my Streak but it wasn't very good on my Xoom so tried and now love VPlayer as so far it has played everything i have tried on my Xoom including 720p MKV files without issues.

I've been using Moboplayer religiously for a couple of months. However, I found it often didn't have sound for certain 720p H.264 encoded files. I found and tried BSPlayer and it played them like a champ.

Mx Player was recently updated to have better multi core support. It can now play some of my previously stuttering high profile videos as smooth as dice player.

Now I'm just waiting for the developer to implement auto dimming of the status bar during playback.

Stream video?

I have a media server with hundreds mp4 and avi video files. I use Twonkey on the server and it works great for all my DLNA devices. However, I have yet to find ANY video player that will play mp4 videos on my Xoom streamed from my server. All the avi files play perfect.

I've tried a lot of players, VPlayer, Rock, MX, Vittal, BS, Mobo etc. The ONLY one to play my high profile 720p mkvs smoothly has been Dice Player. It's updated regularly and is pretty stable since the last update (no crashes yet anyway). I highly recommend checking out the 3 day free trial.

im trying dice player now. played a true blood 720p mkv great. picture and sound. Tried to play two difference avi's and got an error saying the video cannot be played. I wish there would come a day when i could rely on one video player to play everything.
Ive got:
dice player, rockplayer, moboplayer, mvideoplayer, MovieGallery, MX Videplayer all installed.

I love mVideoPlayer. It doesn't support xvid or most of the other stuff the stock player doesn't support, but since I rip all my DVDs and Blu-Rays in h.264/aac it's not a problem. It has the best UI and can download posters for your movies and tv shows. And it's FREE!

Alright after posting this I noticed all the posts talking about DicePlayer, so I downloaded the trial. It plays my high profile h.264 720p videos flawlessly! Went and paid for the full version. I don't think I'll ever look back. That said, I miss the HW acceleration in the UI and poster support mVideoPlayer has.

I was ready to try some videos on my new Samsung Tab 10.1" and I decided to try MoboPlayer. My test movie is a 720p blue ray rip, a little over 3 gigs in size. Mobo played it perfectly.
