Update on the ZLink issue.
Updating to ZLink 5 did not solve the issue.
I assume I need to reflash the OS.
I tried to load an older version, but it does not allow me to downgrade via usb flash drive.
My biggest issues now are the constant connection drop when using ZLink (it plays music via bluetooth just fine)
And the high pitch static/cpu/something sound via speakers - this one is hella annoying when there is no music, and I have not been able to find the culprit.
The static is there only when the unit tries to play music or any sound, when the amp turns off, no static.
It's clearly a cpu related, as it gets more active when the unit is trying to open an app, or play a video, its less pronounced when just idling.
Sounds like EMI issues (seems common on this HU). Don't know why firmware version would make a difference.

Musc & Call Volumes There are 3 possible ways to make/receive calls BT calls to linked phones without CarPlay/AndroidAuto (CP/AA) Use Settings->Volume to set call volume and music volume independently. Usually call volumes are set much louder than music due to the narrow frequency range of calls

WiFi WiFi is faster with Bt turned off (confirmed on my unit) Someone on 4pda also reports faster wifi with longer antenna GU on MTK AC8257 cpu, Android 10, MCU: HDBEC - 4PDA Cellular HU includes 2 cellular SIM card slots. One internal (SIM1 require disassembly to get to it) and one via external
I believe wireless CarPlay or Android via HU+zlink is over wifi hotspot (HU's wifi signs into phone's automatically enabled hotspot for CP/AA)
Maybe try wired connection and see if connection drops improve.
