Update on the ZLink issue.
Updating to ZLink 5 did not solve the issue.

I assume I need to reflash the OS.
I tried to load an older version, but it does not allow me to downgrade via usb flash drive.

My biggest issues now are the constant connection drop when using ZLink (it plays music via bluetooth just fine)
And the high pitch static/cpu/something sound via speakers - this one is hella annoying when there is no music, and I have not been able to find the culprit.

The static is there only when the unit tries to play music or any sound, when the amp turns off, no static.
It's clearly a cpu related, as it gets more active when the unit is trying to open an app, or play a video, its less pronounced when just idling.

Sounds like EMI issues (seems common on this HU). Don't know why firmware version would make a difference.

I believe wireless CarPlay or Android via HU+zlink is over wifi hotspot (HU's wifi signs into phone's automatically enabled hotspot for CP/AA)

Maybe try wired connection and see if connection drops improve.

There is a setting in Android settings called "invert colors" or similar. Try to use the search function on top of settings to find it....
Hello, I have a Multimidia yt5760b AC8259 4gb ram 64gb internal memory.
I managed to solve the touch issues (just put the 5 fingers on the screen and keep turning your hand from one side to the other, then the configuration screen will open, then just follow the steps by clicking on the points), I also solved the issue of images, it was a wire of the harness that was badly fitted.

But now I need help with another situation.
It no longer has the logos and animations, it is also not showing the speed and revolutions count in the multimedia, I believe that due to the update, it ended up deleting everything.
I would need these folders with the files to copy to mine.
As you can see, the colors on the screen are messed up, I've already reversed the colors in the Android settings but it's no use. If you notice in the video when it restarts in the background the colors are correct. But after reboot they are bad again.

Folks,

How do you put the radio into recovery mode?

Thanks
Dan

Would be good if we had clear directions on this. Searching the thread for recovery seems to suggest need the autoupdate file, firmware file or image, and correct resolution drivers/UI if unit got bricked with wrong resolution UI patch.

There the search of @boolaga effort in this. Sounds like he did firmware file + autoupdate + correct resolution UI (since he bricked with wrong UI resolution install)

Too much black magic for my needs my friend. Ever since I updraded to 1.73.7 my YT7260B has awful washed colors and the MCU is not happy with my steering controls, can't mute, even after clearing controls and relearing many times. MCU test shows different codes for each key so the issue might be the UI.

I wanted to enter recovery to wipe cache and do a full factory reset to see if it gets better

Cheers

2/9/23 - 11:21 1.73.8 for 2GB is out but FAILED during install.

Download 2x and tried to install 2x. Both failed with screen captures below. After failure, my UI20 background was changed so had to reinstall UI20 along with setting up radio region, DSP etc..

IMG_0135 (1).jpegIMG_0136.jpeg

Affer selecting "Reboot System Now" Nothing I did would trigger reboot. I think eventually it did reboot based on timer.

I think they fired the QA team and now are rolling out these newer version without enough testing, I hope YT7260's 1.73.8 fixes my color, mute on reverse and steering wheel control issues rather than adding more issues to the pile.

Thanks for the heads up brother

There is this file which I've not been dare to try.

XYAUTO (xygala.com)

My failure could be due to using a 64GB USB stick. Windows 11 doesn't provide FAT32 format options for 64GB USB stick so my USB stick was formatted exFAT. Perhaps when the new firmware boots up and try to load more stuff, its looking for FAT/FAT32?

Anyway, I need to use like 3 USB sticks since each can only contain one firmware or apk. Need 1 for firmware, 1 for UI20, 1 for zlink 5. Perhaps just do it one at a time with a single USB stick that works.

Anyway, will try again later and report back.

Is UI20 screen resolution specific?

Is UI20 screen resolution specific?

Yes

But maybe xyauto will eventually change without any release notes? Probably no one will try in fear of existing behavior of bricking display with wrong resolution.

Just tested 1.73.8 on 32GB FAT32 USB stick, same failure as post #1330

Reinstalled 1.73.7 (using 64GB exFAT USB stick) + UI20 to return back and avoid any mixed partial update.

So FAILURE for sure. I guess now we wait until xyauto change the time stamp with a fixed upload on their server.

1.73.8 2/11/23 11:04 is out. Comes with an upgrade flowchart. Google translate to English version is attached. Looks like can't downgrade after via USB (just a guess based on translation)

Tried it and FAILED again in the same way. Perhaps 1.73.8 requires a different upgrade process than the past? Return back to 1.73.7 by just reboot and reinstall UI20 so I guess failed install likely didn't corrupt the 1.73.7 OS.

Looks like we have to upgrade (Should say brand new install) via PC only.

Probably also need to think about license info like zlink. I've saved by zlink activation code but have never had to use it. It would always activate offline first and then online after launching a couple of times with wifi connected.

    我认为不可能,但人们仍在寻找解决方案,包括帖子里的中国qq兴趣小组#1422。不确定他们找到了什么解决方案,我在帖子#1423中问道。

I am the author of the firmware released by the China Forum post you mentioned. First of all, correct you: I am not a QQ interest group. I am an Android Framework developer. The firmware I developed for this second time (YT5760B) can be written from 1.73.7 and any version below via USB flash disk without changing the partition table. This firmware supports English and automatic recognition of the vertical display screen, but I'm sorry that I made it based on the Chinese version, So it doesn't include Google services

For most casual users, I think simple configuration is best. Here are probably best solutions

    PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

I suggest everyone store their IMEI # and any llicense activation code in safe place. There maybe future situation that can erase these. IIMEI can be retrieved on the HU motherboard even if lost.

    <= 1.73.7 users

Just stay with 1.73.7. xyauto will surely be pressured by vendors to make new feature appear in 1.73.7 partition structure. Otherwise, vendor will receive heavy product return pressure from recent sales of HU using 1.73.7 partition structure without upgrade path.

2/23/23 1.73.7 feature set appears to be same as 2/20/23 1.73.8. So you might ask, what is the point of 1.73.8 then? Read on.

Avoid modified 1.73.8. with 1.73.7 partition structure

Some people are creating a modified install like this. I think most users may confusingly believe this is 1.73.8 with 1.73.8 partition structure. All future 1.73.8 partition structure upgrades will fail to install.

    1.73.8 HUs

These must be new HUs that will be purchased now/soon since 1.73.8 just appeared. These users should just use >= 1.73.8

1.73.8 has a changed partition structure. It appears to run faster and the partition structure may be responsible. My hypothesis is eMMC performance tuning.

    Bricked HU

Wrong display driver brick should consult post #1372
Wrong firmware brick probably can use either
    • TWRP to install ota (ota partition structure probably should match wrong firmware partition structure) Consult post #1378 and following 2 posts.
    • format flash, install new firmware, install IMEI (hopefully saved) This is basically HU vendor's HU manufacturing process.
    =====

Of course all this is only valid until xyauto make more configuration change :) xyauto + aliexpress is like WIndows hw+sw. Massive variations with difficult configuration control.

    =====

I know the process to format flash, install new firmware and reinstall IMEI (if known). WIll post a general description shortly. But am afraid to try on my HU (wife's car used daily) If anyone in US has bricked HU. PM me and I can try to practice this technique and revive the unit.

@mantecon1 taught me these steps so give credit to him :)

    Flash Setup and Use TWRP

    General Overview Diagram

    Hardware Tools

Read here for Tools and HU USB Port

    YT5760B_AC8259 - Brick Recovery (google.com)

Download and unpack the TWRP Package

TWRP are specific to a hardware platform. @mantecon1 found these online for YT5670B

    twrp1.png

Launch flash_tool and set the scatter file

Launch flash_tool from above flash tool guide
Maks sure Download-Agent is chosen per flash tool guide
For 32bit firmware, set Scatter-loading File to AC8259_Android_scatter. For 64bit firmware, set to AC8259_Android_scatter_64bit

This will populate the flash tool screen like this. Only recovery and vbmeta should be checked. vbmeta location is different between 32b and 64b firmware.

    AutoChips3.pngtwrp 64b.png

Basically this says ONLY flash these recovery and vbmeta section onto the HU

    Flash with Following Steps
    • Insert USB-A cable into HU's 6-in USB plug. If you get it wrong, don't worry, it will just not work :)
    • Make sure its in Download Only mode. Again, if ever asked to format, quit. Format will erase entire flash memory and cause more challenges.
    • Press Download. This sets the flash_tool ready to download waiting for the HU. HU will need to get into the correct mode to accept flash.
    • Insert USB-A cable into PC
    • Press RST with a tool. This is when all the flash will happen fairly quickly. HU screen will go blank and get into a mode ready for flashing. Then Windows will make USB device mount notification sound. flash_tool then starts flashing recovery and completes with a few seconds.
Thats it. TWRP is now flashed as the recovery.

    twrp2.png

    Unplug USB-A cable from HU
Insert the USB stick for backup and ota firmware to install into HU
    Press RST
HU will boot completely to UI

    Trigger TWRP

    • Download an app called Terminal Emulator For Android from Play Store
    • Launch it
    • Wait for command line prompt (Sometime this can take more than 40s right after HU boots up) Can hit return key to check.
    • type reboot recovery, hit return
    • system will now reboot into TWRP recovery
    Screenshot_20230225-161227.pngScreenshot_20230225-164752.png

    TWRP Initial Screen

I didn't capture the first TWRP launch screen. You just want to check "don't display again" and slide the modify slider. We will need to do more than read only mode.

    TWRP Screen Blanking

TWRP will automatically turn off the screen after a short time. Need to turn this off (under Settings). If goes blank, need to press RST, boot HU, run Terminal with reboot recovery command to get back to TWRP.

    Video

Here is a video on TWRP installation on my HU with 64bit firmware. Note it took awhile for terminal emulator to show prompt. This seems to occur everytime. Probably just need to let it sit awhile after firmware boots up.

    TWRP Backup

    IMG_0263.jpegIMG_0264.jpegIMG_0265.jpegIMG_0261.jpeg
    • Choose Backup
    • Slelect all partitions
    • Select storage to USB stick
    • Enable Compression
    • Swipe to Backup
Wait unitl it finish. ~4GB for base HU Android system + your user data files. Note backup says it doesn't backup pictures and downloads

Thats it, backup done. Keep USB stick plugged in for ota install

    TWRP ota Install

    IMG_0263.jpegIMG_0266.jpegIMG_0267.jpegIMG_0268.jpegIMG_0269.jpeg

    • Choose Install
    • Select Storage to USB Stick
    • Choose ota file
    • Swipe to confirm flash
    • Flashing progress
    • Reboot System
Thats it. System will now boot to the ota firmware. ota firmware will also erase TWRP recovery and replace it with xyauto recovery. xyauto recovery allows System Info Android Upgrade button to install other patches (UI20, zlink)

For reference, here is 4pda's post on this exact same technique. Although they added root

    2

    General overview diagram

    Setup Flash Tool

I've made this simpler. Here are the steps

    Download the tools

There files are originally from xyauto file server. I removed all Chinese characters which prevent the tool from running correctly on at least my English version of Windows.

    WIndows Computer

I used Win10. I've read other posts that say Win11 don't work. Flashing recovery is so fast (takes 5-10 sec) It may work if want to try.

I believe can not use any Windows installed under VM or emulated. USB port is discovered and correct driver launched quickly. Probably no time to do USB forwarding to VM from native OS. If you don't know VMs or what all this means. Just ignore. Use a native Windows installed laptop.

    Install Drivers

From the downloaded file, run Driverinstall with admin privilege (not sure if necessary). Installation will ask if want to remove USB drivers. Click Okay (Its only removing previously installed Flash Tool drives, doesn't touch any other USB drivers) Let it finish and reboot Windows.

I had to prompt the installation with return key a couple of times to get it to finish.

    AutoChips1.png
    Screenshot 2023-02-24 at 9.40.54 AM.png

    Unpack flash_tool

Just unzip the AutoChips_Flash_Tool_Release_20190217 folder until you see flash_tool.exe

    Run the flash_tool

run flash_tool.exe with admin privilege (again not sure if necessary). It will complain no scatter file. Just okay it and get it launched.

    AutoChips2.png

    Select the Download Agent

Choose the file MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin in the same folder as flash_tool for Download Agent. Ignore the other fields in this pic. They are for choosing recovery partition described in next post.

    AutoChips3.png

Thats it. You are ready to flash :)

    WARNING

Use Download Only. Neverever do format as this will erase entire HU's flash memory including IMEI #s. if the tool prompts you to format, quit and avoid it. Only choose to Format flash if actually necessary such as updating to new firmware partition structure AND familiar with IMEI and app activation code recoveries. More info here

Update on On 1.73.8 upgrade from 1.73.7

Studying the problem slowly with @mantecon1 guidance (He has upgraded to 1.73.8 since he has many advanced firmware flashing skills)

Looking at the scatter files (file describing which bits go where in the flash memory) There are sections that moved. This is surely the reason its not possible to do ota upgrades via the System Info screen.

Anyway, definitely looks more advanced skill required to do the 1.73.8 upgrade AND likely more chance to brick. All the classical Android mod techniques are involved (adb side load equivalent (SP Flashtool), twrp, root are involved) Will continue to work with @mantecon1 to see if can find an easy solution for the broad user base.

Meanwhile, maybe xyauto will keep providing updates with 1.73.7 :)

i did it !!! i did it !!! my radio works!! to much people with this problem and i found the solution trying bored files from xygala, i was bored, i downloaded all the files in that drive 1 by 1.. seems it’s a driver for lg screens, i will edit this to make a tutorial, but i need help to do it, my english is not so good
    3
Late Feb release of an xyauto UI is pretty good. Has maps (I use with google maps app with offline maps), radio, HU music player, a fixed app launch icon pane (left vertical) and a user changeable app launch icon pane (lower bottom) all on one screen.

Generally quite nice. google maps has voice input search, auto dark mode at night while navigating (none navigation mode unfortunately stays in day mode) map will be always north up while driving without navigation route.

    Screenshot_20220429-113525.pngScreenshot_20220502-172333.pngScreenshot_20220502-212853.png

patch file link Note this seems to be for 1024x600 screen only. Didn't see it in other resolution folders.

Mode switching is a bit mysterious (I have a steering wheel button programmed to switch modes). In the old default UI, mode switch with switch between currently running apps. Seems to do nothing on this UI while being displayed.

This launcher provide everything I use so no need to fiddle with the HU much. Just power on the car and drive. The useful features are

    - FM radio (wife listens to this and its her car)

    - Maps always displayed and track your position smoothly (Seen other launchers with map. Position only update every second or so, very jerky display). Google maps fixed to north up unless navigating. Voice input destination via mic icon on google maps search bar. Maps always in bright color mode (quite bright at night but area is not entire screen) Navigation will auto change to dark mode at night.

    - BT works if setup to auto pair. Incoming calls pops up on screen. Can voice command out going calls with iPhone easily. Just say "siri call xxx" with iPhone mic able to hear you. iPhone looks up your contact and dials while connecting to HU's BT for speaker/mic sound.

    - Music player will play all music files in the system/USB stick.

    - Color choices are nice. Colorful but background is dim for night time use. Only issue is google maps none navigation mode display stays bright. Other nav software might handle this better.

    - Google maps generally likes portrait displays like a phone. This horizontal smaller window sometimes hide the next driving intersection change behind the green direction box on top. Not too big of a problem.

    - Left column icons are not changeable. Bottom row is user changeable.
    3
I have recorder a video with the YT5760B system upgrade. It takes about 5 minutes to complete. In the attached ZIP file you can find the video.
    3
The XYgala.com has released another newer 1.73.7 split screen firmware (release date 28 October).
And UI20 add-on pack has also been updated, it made adding the app to main screen bit easier.
The new firmware updated the Zlink to ver 3.9.43, which causes sound/music distortion when using Carpaly.
At least this problem appeared on my HU.
if you are having the same problem, you can install zlink ver 3.9.27 from my previous post.
    3
Is it wiping user data as 1.73.3?

Just installed 1.73.6 on 5760B 1024*600, didn't wipe user data.

Actually, I forgot and left 1.73.3 (don't recall if it was 5/24 or 7/25 version) on the USB stick w/1.73.6 and 1.73.3 got installed which wiped my user data. But then I installed 1.73.6 over this without wiping user data.

Biggest change I notice is just the 2x boot up pop sound is gone. So maybe xyauto have more orderly sound hardware initialization now :)
