Since first image show your mega folder too....there is no wrong step.
Second, is the twrp flash, no?

Just skip TWRP. Unnecessary.

Can you prepare me the necessary files to upgrade from 1.73.7 to 1.73.8 on an 8GB-128Gb rom unit? With all the steps?

If your HU is horizontal orientation and 1024x600 or 1280x720 resolution. Your computer package is here. Also download ota zip file (need preloader.bin)

The computer package is missing metazone. Get it from here. MEGA

After you download all the files and unzip them, looks like this (Chinese characters on computer package name removed)

Screenshot 2023-06-04 at 1.52.19 PM.png

After setting up flash_tool correctly, it looks like this

Screenshot 2023-06-04 at 1.52.03 PM.png

These are all the files. On the steps to flash firmware (what button to push, when to plug in cable). Watch the video in the guide in post #1399.

I am looking for a New Header unit for my nissan qashqai j10.
I found one with a Rockchip AC8257 - Octa Core
Is this a good CPU?

This Unit

What Do you mean?

Seller doesn't provide enough info/picture for you to know exact hardware and firmware maker. Read here

AC8257/AC8259 are generally lower end chip for lower cost HUs.

What could be wrong?

I guess you have either different resolution or HU model. Do you have any original picture of System Info screen when HU was running properly so we can tell model and resolution?

Firmware link I gave you is YT5760B 1024x600 or 1280x720

But it looks like HU booted properly but now just screen display failure.

Is this old post ( #1622 ) from you the same HU? It shows YT5760B, 128GB storage but doesn't show RAM size

The firmware I gave you to flash is correct for the HU. I don't know why screen display driver has problem.

Best way is to see if anyone else successfully updated same spec HU (YT5760B 1280 720 lvds > 4GB) as yours to 1.73.8. I searched the thread and didn't find any. Also you display is 1280x720 lvds (mine is 1024x600 lvds) I see some 1280x720 mipi. Don't know if lvds and mipi difference will cause problems.

Since you know how to format+flash with PC now, you can try 1.73.7 to see if can recover working HU. Files are here. If missing logo/metazone, get it from my MEGA repository.

No problem. But i have to press reset button twice after flashing. If not, is not booting. Tomorrow i will try the flash from windows 10 laptop. today was from windows 11 laptop.

I didn't need to press RST 2x to boot so don't know why you have this difference. After flashing completed, I unplugged the USB and then pressed RST.

Win11 probably won't make any difference but good to try I guess.

But it seems your HU booted properly but just have wrong display driver. Or maybe display hardware got damaged. Did you remove/open the HU recently? display to logic board flex cable (also called lvds cable) is very fragile.

Was the display driver. Still have a little mark of no synchronizing. I applied the http://file.xygala.com/?dir=uploads/XY公版/57系列通刷工具包/安卓10.0/1280x720/1280X720_无360 . so tomorrow i will flash again 1.73.8 and try the driver.

Interesting, I was thinking of suggesting that display driver. Glad its "working"

But I guess recently released xyauto .7 and .8 firmware is NOT working for 1280*720 lvds!

Maybe wait for awhile after pressing first RST to see if system boot. Maybe firmware is detecting which display you have during that time? Even to display the very first boot image properly, firmware has check the HW and select the correct display driver. I don't know, just guessing.

Everything is fine. Display driver did the trick. The mark disappeared in few minutes, maybe some nearly dead pixels survived. Internet 4G work, despite the lack of IMEI.

I heard 4G works without IMEI in some countries. But I guess you will get Android OS complaints often.

You can re-patch IMEI but require IMEI #. Its printed on the logic board (require removal of course) or IMEI from an old phone.

So I've risked it and updated my YT7260B Unit to 1.37.8. Thankfully I've studied a lot around here before attempting it:

    IMG_20230924_161358.jpg

Basically I've dealt with all the issues already predicted by howardc64. Great work m8:
    1. Missing preloader.bin. Found it in the most recent OTA for my Unit.
    2. Missing logo/metadata. Got them from here.
    3. Bricked screen. Used XYAUTO_UPDATE.bin and the gongban_YT57_sat9707-v1.73.8_77e06f22_ota.tar this and got it fixed. Attaching both just in case XYAuto deletes them. Great catch.
    4. Then, as predicted I had the dimensions (XY) reverted. I've rotated my five fingers and calibrated the screen. I've also fixed the left "buttons" there. Super useful post and video.
    5. I Don't have the IMEI issue as I didn't get the one with an embedded modem.
Now, the only thing that's irritating me is that I've lost logo/animations. I've put a nice "Ford" there on boot and now I can only have the default "Android":

    Any ideas? xD

How to use that file? How to apply it? I already have 1.73.8
Put it in a readable USB and go do an Android update (car settings, system info).

I have a 7260B with 4/64Gb config. Honestly it is a very basic unit with not enough muscle power. I have tried various combinations to see if there are ways to speed up the system (especially google maps and playstore). However all offered similar performances. Few things i have tried (all these are flashing through laptop)

    1. Updated to the latest 1.73.8
    2. Downgraded to 1.71
    3. flashed a 64 bit firmware (6-8GB) - this seems to lag on my unit
    4. flashed 1.73.7 (by far the weakest firmware)
    5. Flashed Chinese firmware - Issues with google services
    6. Flashed 1.73.7 with the new partition from 1.73.8
    7. Even tried the Android 11 and 12 from other similar units and bricked my unit

Over the weekend i flashed the 1.73.8 (latest) and rooted it with TWRP recovery. Additionally i did
    1. deleted several apps that were not required (Gmail, google app, contactssync, calendar sync and a few others that i dont need). I had to delete these through TWRP
    2. Used RAM expander from playstore and created an additional 8GB swap memory - marginal improvement in the connectivity and load times of google apps
    3. I also used EX Kernel manager and found that only 4 of the 8 cores are usually operational. I enabled all 8 cores, and set the max and min frequency to 2001MHz. I also set the governor to performance. All these yield a slightly better performance (although not significant).

After all these experiments, i have resented to the fact that this one is a weak unit and cant be pushed beyond a certain limit (my personal opinion). For now it seems to meet my requirements (albeit barely), i dont intend to change this unit. At some point i would go back and install my stock unit. The music output is generally ok. The bass is too high and when you reduce it the pitch becomes too high. For now i use the Rock mode which has a decent balance of both the Bass and the highs

Yes, this HU isn't very good performance. But it also depend on what you run. Will be fine if just run radio for example so depends on on usage scenario. 2 steps made the biggest performance difference for my usage case.

Usage case : Navigation + radio + answer bluetooth calls + make calls via siri commands to iphone which then use HU's BT for mic+sound. Don't use CarPlay or AA or voice commands/recognition on the HU.
    • 1.73.8 generally increased performance over 1.73.7 in either 32 or 64bit mode.
    • An efficient offline navigation such as iGo and Sygic runs pretty fast. iGo is really fast but no voice/natural language destination specification. But its very fast, runs with UI17/20/23 as part of my usage case reasonably fast.
If your usage mode is similar, might try iGO for an older navigation UI style but relatively fast overall operation.
    2
How did you install it? Thanks
if you have 1.73.8 running, you can use spflashtool to flash the boot.img( it's patched with magisk, so it's rooted). Then install magisk.apk in android, run it, it will nag for a reboot, so reboot. Then install the v4a.apk (viper4android apk). Then start up magisk and install the v4a.zip(viper4android magisk module) as a module. Then reboot, then run viper4android app and turn legace mode on. Then setup viper4android.

As extra( for me i don't know if it sounded better, maybe yes, but it had less base) you can flash another viper4android module zip file in magisk. Choose either module for the sound as you like.

    grtz

that's a lot of effort you made. Too bad it didn't change much. For the sound, you could try viper4android. On my unit it results in a better sound.

Very similar usage as yours. I am currently running it on 32bit.

Is iGo comparable to GMaps? In terms of realtime traffic and optimial routing? Keen to try this one

iGO does lose a lot to latest cloud based map leaders like GMaps. Offline so no realtime traffic and not as good routing. But the map is fast. Enter destination is old style (state->city->street->number) But it does auto switch day/night color mode (GMaps version for his Android HU version is old so don't switch color unless routing) And designed as a car navigator just get turn on HU, it fires up and shows your location while driving on maps. Doesn't pause in a search window first.

i did it !!! i did it !!! my radio works!! to much people with this problem and i found the solution trying bored files from xygala, i was bored, i downloaded all the files in that drive 1 by 1.. seems it’s a driver for lg screens, i will edit this to make a tutorial, but i need help to do it, my english is not so good

Late Feb release of an xyauto UI is pretty good. Has maps (I use with google maps app with offline maps), radio, HU music player, a fixed app launch icon pane (left vertical) and a user changeable app launch icon pane (lower bottom) all on one screen.

Generally quite nice. google maps has voice input search, auto dark mode at night while navigating (none navigation mode unfortunately stays in day mode) map will be always north up while driving without navigation route.

    Screenshot_20220429-113525.pngScreenshot_20220502-172333.pngScreenshot_20220502-212853.png

patch file link Note this seems to be for 1024x600 screen only. Didn't see it in other resolution folders.

Mode switching is a bit mysterious (I have a steering wheel button programmed to switch modes). In the old default UI, mode switch with switch between currently running apps. Seems to do nothing on this UI while being displayed.

This launcher provide everything I use so no need to fiddle with the HU much. Just power on the car and drive. The useful features are

    - FM radio (wife listens to this and its her car)

    - Maps always displayed and track your position smoothly (Seen other launchers with map. Position only update every second or so, very jerky display). Google maps fixed to north up unless navigating. Voice input destination via mic icon on google maps search bar. Maps always in bright color mode (quite bright at night but area is not entire screen) Navigation will auto change to dark mode at night.

    - BT works if setup to auto pair. Incoming calls pops up on screen. Can voice command out going calls with iPhone easily. Just say "siri call xxx" with iPhone mic able to hear you. iPhone looks up your contact and dials while connecting to HU's BT for speaker/mic sound.

    - Music player will play all music files in the system/USB stick.

    - Color choices are nice. Colorful but background is dim for night time use. Only issue is google maps none navigation mode display stays bright. Other nav software might handle this better.

    - Google maps generally likes portrait displays like a phone. This horizontal smaller window sometimes hide the next driving intersection change behind the green direction box on top. Not too big of a problem.

    - Left column icons are not changeable. Bottom row is user changeable.

I have recorder a video with the YT5760B system upgrade. It takes about 5 minutes to complete. In the attached ZIP file you can find the video.

You might need to reinstall 1.73.7 to recover matching zlink version. Not sure anyone who knows how to extract apks still hang out on this thread.
I managed to extract all the apks from 1.73.7.
    Strangely. I couldn't find zlink.apk.
There is ZlinkActivationCode.apk, which is the only apk related to zlink.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

    Update!
Finally found the zlink apk. it was inside the vendor.new.dat.br.
I have uploaded zlink apk here, just in case someone needs it.
I believe this is the zlink ver 3.9.27 comes from the 1.73.7 firmware.
I haven't got chance to test it on my HU (now is midnight here in Australia), will do it tomorrow.

Is it wiping user data as 1.73.3?

Just installed 1.73.6 on 5760B 1024*600, didn't wipe user data.

Actually, I forgot and left 1.73.3 (don't recall if it was 5/24 or 7/25 version) on the USB stick w/1.73.6 and 1.73.3 got installed which wiped my user data. But then I installed 1.73.6 over this without wiping user data.

Biggest change I notice is just the 2x boot up pop sound is gone. So maybe xyauto have more orderly sound hardware initialization now :)
