Needing some help here. When in terminal emulator, type 'getprop' I get several gsm entries. I have no cell connection to Verizon whatsoever. Changing SIM cards doesn't help.

[gsm.current.phone-type]: [2]
[gsm.operator.alpha]: []
[gsm.operator.iso-country]: []
[gsm.operator.isroaming]: [false]
[gsm.operator.numeric]: []
[gsm.sim.operator.alpha]: []
[gsm.sim.operator.iso-country]: []
[gsm.sim.operator.numeric]: []
[gsm.sim.state]: [UNKNOWN]

I've tried flashing stock... doesn't matter what I try, I can't get radio-cdma.img to flash... it just hangs up. I'm thinking the nv_data.bin is checked whenever the radio-cdma tries to flash and since my nv_data.bin has been altered with gsm values (???) I suppose that's why I can't get past it.

My IMEI is unknown, as is all other phone status fields. Wi-Fi works! :)

I have attempted using CDMA Workshop 2.7 to repair IMEI but can only connect to the COM port... it connects successfully but any attempt to read or write to the phone will not answer.

I'm stuck on a crappy flip phone, I have an EVO 4g (Sprint) that works fine. I want to have a smartphone working again.

Any help would be much appreciated!

btw, I don't have a nandroid. :(

How long are you waiting for CDMA.img to flash that one takes awhile. I mean awhile too it takes me what feels like forever to send that img just don't sell yourself short thinking it should be done by now because everything else goes so quick. Forget the toolkit use fastboot .

Did you try the GNEX Toolkit??
Yep, I'm thinking that may be where I fouled things up selecting gsm... :(

I've tried every tool I've been able to find... Wug's, GNEX, ODIN, adb fastboot flashing, CWM flashing, TWRP flashing, ... every single method freezes on writing

radio-cdma.img

I have a cracked screen... So Verizon and Samsung are not helping me.

It takes around 3-4 minutes to write that

I honestly can't believe I'm reading this. This is why you read first then flash. Have you tried the flash-all with the official Google images?
This is my suggestion as well. Just use adb and flash the system images over. It will flash everything back, but it is a multi-step process that will wipe your data and such.

Be careful next time.

No toolkit is gonna program your ESN. No driver. No android image. No Google return to stock. No CDMA radio. No gsm radio. That's all software. Your problem is hardware. ..serial numbers.

Beer Anyone?

I posted where I did to get a helpful response. I didn't expect so many clever comments :)

Background... OTA to Jelly Bean, no issues. A couple days later... I do what I have to do often with vzw gnex... I toggle airplane mode on and then back off to try to get a signal at home. I guess it was the first time I had to do this since 4.1.1. Airplane mode grayed out and I could not turn it off. That is when I lost connection to any cell tower.

I read... and read... and read... I chose to install ADB and fastboot flash Google stock images. CDMA radio would not copy. 10 mins.. 20 mins.. Overnight... it would not flash. My MEID was already gone.

I would say that over the next several days I spent nearly 4-5 hours a day researching other methods of 'fixing' my phone. Yes, I had already been to Verizon in person and told with the crack in the corner of my screen, they could not help me. So over the past several weeks I have learned about all the various methods to try and resurrect a bricked Verizon Galaxy Nexus. And nothing worked. I have not found any help on any thread detailing how to fix this problem on this phone.

There are detailed instructions for other phones... just not the SCH-i515.

So folks, when you have a phone (ahem... pda) with none of the codes in the phone, no warranty, no help from Verzion or Samsung, and no helpful replies... What did I have to lose? I have a slick little remote for my XBMC setup... I can play Words with Friends, Facebook my kids, Check my Google Voice mail, Gmail... I just can't do any of that unless I'm connected to Wi-Fi. Oh... Wait... I didn't have a stinking cell signal in my house anyways!!!

So yeah, at some point, in the wee hours of the night, poking around multiple threads, I 'think' I may have flashed a GSM rom... I'm not certain that I did.

Confirmation from one of you experts is what I was looking for. But no dice... just snide remarks. :)

I'm not an expert, not a developer... Just a guy with a chemical engineering degree and much deeper desire to understand everything I can about how these little devices work. That's just how my brain works... a problem like this bugs the stew out of me until I figure it out.

I understand. I need to get "the numbers" back into the phone. I am fully aware flashing wont do it.

I don't have anything to lose here folks... I want to try and figure out how to fix my phone with tools that are available and work with this specific device.

I appreciate everything that is available here in XDA. I appreciate the sharing of ideas and knowledge in this community.

If anyone knows what steps I must take to get my phone working on Verizon's network again, PM me or post reply here in the thread and I'll buy you a beer... perhaps several! :)

Cheers!

I left no snide remarks and as I recall I told you what need to do. I also told you i have dialer codes as well. Need your msl code in order to edit once you get into the Verizon menu. And...not to sound snide but if you had read the CDMA workshop info page you cannot write unless you spend the 99$ for the program, otherwise its just a trial.
I don't know anything about android development but I have been modifying with dialer codes long before android was even around. Has been a while and might need to do a quick refresh, but I used to buy the $20 Verizon prepay phones, activate and never purchase a card again because would modify and give myself free data. I know dialer codes. Get your msl/spc and its cake from there.
