Everyone seems to forget that after flashing a new ROM/kernel combination it takes at least 24-48 hours for things to settle in & start working harmoniously. At 48-72 hours things really start clicking and you'll see not only your best performance, but also your best battery life after about 72 hours. This is true for most, if not all android powered devices. Try it, you'll like it ;)

While you ARE right for most cases, this is not one of them. The kernal has some minor problems with either not going to idle correctly or reverting back to the OC at all times. Either way, the rom IS great and the kernal is awesome too. As soon as he gets a fix ill download and reflash. Until then, well, it has nothing to do with waiting it out for a couple days.

Hmm, that's funny cuz if you went back just a couple of posts you'd see that I posted some valuable information as to how to go about reigning this kernel (v1.1.1) in and keeping it under control with SystemTuner. Granted the kernel needs some fine tuning with CPU scaling control, and I believe the voltage could go a bit lower, but all in all it's quite stable. And it's quite a bit snappier than the stock kernel.
Is there room for improvement? Definitely! But since this is the first custom kernel for the Sprint SGS3 that isn't bricking phones right out of the gate I'd say Shabby did a hell of a job with it :D

You can change build.prop values that have "F9" to "G2". This will stop the notification. This can be by copying the build.prop from /system to your sd card then using a text editor on your computer or using a build.prop editing app. I just did this myself and the message went away.

The values you change would be:

ro.build.PDA=L710VPALF9 to ro.build.PDA=L710VPALG2
ro.build.hidden_ver=L710VPALF9 to ro.build.hidden_ver=L710VPALG2
ro.build.description=d2spr-user 4.0.4 IMM76D L710VPALF9 release-keys to ro.build.description=d2spr-user 4.0.4 IMM76D L710VPALG2 release-keys
ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/d2spr/d2spr:4.0.4/IMM76D/L710VPALF9:user/release-keys to ro.build.fingerprint=samsung/d2spr/d2spr:4.0.4/IMM76D/L710VPALG2:user/release-keys

I haven't seen any negativity affected apps or settings.
Thank you.!!!!

Do you need a mirror for download? I have tried downloading 4 times now, with an average estimate of 3 hours for completion (50-75Kb/s).
I am willing to offer some public dropbox space or perhaps a temporary file server if your site is having bandwidth issues.

I am sending Jez a mirror now, his choice if he wants to use it...

sorry about the slow speeds guys, i pay for hosting and when i signed up i chose the middle of the line package. they dont offer great speeds but i have unl bandwidth and unl space, as such i offer a lot of devs space on my service for them to host. on my old domain (holyliving****.com) i could expect about 2 TB of data being moved in any given month.

Speaking for myself, no need to apologize! Thank you for the work you do! I've seen you work with the nexus and now the sIII.
