I used to use AdClear, which was pretty good. Whether it has a real VPN, I'm not sure, though.
I used Blokada and it one of the best ad blocker I used.
The devs plan to add a real open VPN in the Future.
Until then I looking for a real VPN ad blocker.

AdClear don't use a real VPN but the devs work on that.

Ah, yes, that makes sense. I'm rooted, though, so I use xposed methods for adblocking and firewall needs, now. I'll have a look at Blokada, though. I'm sort of considering going back to using a VPN-based method, but I'm just concerned it might be a little more battery heavy than the root methods.

Adguard ist verry good!
I used Adguard before and my experience was that it's not very good. It didn't work very well for me.

I have PureVPN installed on my Samsung J5 pro device. It has ad blocker (content filter), Antivirus and other functions added in their ozone features. Here's a screen shot of my device.
Thanks but I don't want to use VPN with antivirus.

you can use SABS or Adhell, I am in SABS and works amazing blocking all kind of ads. I cant post the links because of the DCMA, but you can google them.
Adhell 2 don't work for me anymore (what about Adhell 3?
I couldn't find it on xda).

About SABS I found it, but I download apps only from xda or apk mirror.
I don't trust other sites.

I use SABS and works great, I don't know about Adhell but you won't find any link here on XDA because the app is banned for Samsung and the developer had to take him down but you can find it on Reddit in the official threat. To be honest I don't remember where I downloaded, it was 3 months ago, but certainly I can help you through the process.
