Ok this has probably been discussed but coming from personal experience (and not liking adaway) why does everyone prefer (seeing how most everyone says they can't wait to install adaway after rooting) adaway over adfree? Adfree has been so much better at blocking ads for me, way better than adaway. Why's everyone like it better????

How its illegal? I say its illegal since there are alot of ads which are annoying should be blocked. Especially the ones in streaming video players

No. The apps have been removed from Play by Google because whether you know it or not developers get paid just for the ads showing up. There was a great discussion about this at XDA DevCon2013. So by blocking ads you are keeping money from our developers. However this is not illegal and obviously developers petitioned Google to remove them from Play. With this information you still get to decide whether to use ad blocking apps or not.

IMO, I think it is, since ad blocking is basically not giving any money to the people who developed an app and give it away for free. And this is (IMO again) illegal (it could be considered warez). (Except for banners in notification bar. Everybody who uses that in their apps has a place in the hell waiting for him.) OK, animated flash banners are really a pain in the a*s for bandwidth and hardware resources, you're right. I used AdBlock on my old PC (1200 MHz) mainly because that flash ads, but I created a list of trusted sites on which the ads were enabled. Sites like XDA for example.

Blocking ads never has been nor never will be illegal as some ad companies don't always check who their advertising for and malicious users get nasty code in a banner....not all are like that but its not illegal people use advertising to get paid but some devs do not consider how they implement ads and they make apps or games extremely annoying and difficult to play.
