Hi. i am trying to install the lateesta nd greatest version of the usb drivers for this phone but there seems to not be any.

i have taken a closer look in the inf file and every android phone except the Desire is mentioned on it.

It cannot be installed using that INF file because it doesnt recognise that phone yet.

How as people here managed to get ADB working with this device?

If it's a 'normal' inf file, you should be able to just add the device ID to the list. If you can post a copy of the inf file and device ID, I'll make the changes for you.

I don't think that would work. You've just duplicated the info for the Nexus one under a different name. However, the name itself is just a comment, so in effect, you've just added redundant information in the file.

My guess is that the Desire has a different USB ID than the N1.

i used that usbdriver tool but cant figure out whats needed in the inf file.

Their is no device id but there is a device name with some long values:

0000.001a.0007.004.000.000.000.000.000

The only other info i can see is the vendor Id product ib,usb class, usb subclass and usb protocol

how am i suppose to apply that to this:

;Google NexusOne
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0D02
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0D02&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_4E11
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_4E12&MI_01

HTC Desire
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0bb4&PID_0c87%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install,

USB\VID_18D1&PID_0D02&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_0bb4&PID_0c87
%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install,

%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install,

USB\VID_18D1&PID_4E11

in the HTC Active Sync, ... in the SD Card that came with the device, .. there arent any drivers???

dont know mate. i dont use the original sd card that came with the device. If you got access to a pc and your device, can you see if you can double check for me and upload the inf file driver for it? cheers

I don't see what the device has got to do with it.

Because the device ID is in the INF file.

The only relevant section is:
;HTC Desire

%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0D02

%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_0D02&MI_01
%SingleAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_4E11

%CompositeAdbInterface% = USB_Install, USB\VID_18D1&PID_4E12&MI_01

Change the name (for your ref only) and the sections in blue to the device ID which you can find in the device properties in device manager. The device will be listed as UNKNOWN DEVICE until you have a valid driver). No special tools required.
