use it in xperia e

I'll leave here the procedure to activate the sony bravia engine on Xperia Miro.

I managed to do it correctly and worked with me. I can not vouch for any damage that may cause to your equipment. Do at your own risk!!

6zynib.png

requirements:
- root
- Root explorer or equivalent
- Terminal Emulator

Extract the zip file with the name "Bravia"
Put the two files (be_movie & be_photo) on the memory card of the phone
Using root explorer (or equivalent), place the two files inside the folder: /system/etc

Now we have to change the file build.prop of the ROM
To do this go to /system and open the file build.prop (finger pressed on the choice and chose the option "Open with editor", go to the end of the file and add the following lines:

# Sony Bravia Engine Service
ro.service.swiqi.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi.enable=1

And we recorded the file build.prop

Now we go to the terminal emulator and write:

su (to give the root permissions)

And wrote the following lines:

busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_photo
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_movie
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_photo
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_movie

Restart the Xperia Miro and Voila!!

Sony Bravia Engine active!!

If I helped, click the button thank me!

Jorge Moreira

I'm not a hater here but

All you can see is the Option in settings you can use this mod to fool your friends into believing your phone has Bravia Engine

but this mod doesn't really "enhance" the Picture quality its just placebo if you want Bravia engine go get a Sony Phone with it :)

It will work if libs are ported correctly ( which they aren't)

first OF ALL
JLO has a default stock BE
and its active by default and u won't find an option for it
just use this METHOD if u flashed a custom rom
but for the stock rom u don't need to do anything
again i'm talking about Sony Xperia J

and for the post owner: thanks man, i was searching for a way to add BE to the fljtour rom and i found the answer with u, u r awsome :)

Damn right. This doesn't do anything.

You need lib files(.so), .bin files and the be_movie/be_photo files.

Then you have ported it correctly and you may experience better pictures. But even then, don't expect much. With a low resolution phone like ours, you won't notice any difference.

So you can add this to your settings, but it won't do much.

And the Xperia J doesn't have any Bravia Engine. I don't know where you got that information from(second post above mine). All the phones in this forum don't have Bravia Engine.

Bottom line: you can mess around with this, but it is all hopeless, especially with a 320x480 screen... Buy an Xperia that costs more than €200 and you'll have a phone with a working Bravia Engine.

I actually Have X - Reality in my Rom, I took the files from my Z1c and pushed them to libs

and after adding the following lines
# X-Reality Engine
ro.service.swiqi2.supported = true
persist.service.swiqi2.enable = 1
#
ro.service.swiqi3.supported = true
persist.service.swiqi3.enable = 1

it worked :D, though some "Vector" Picutres look horrible with X Reality on since it tries to improve sharpness but those Vector images are sharp as can be.

Didn't work!

Hi,

It's weird. Try again. :D

You have to put the letters in lowercase. Just like I describe.

For example, if you put the word "true" in capital letters, not work.

Did the steps I have described:

Extract the zip file with the name "Bravia engine with be_album.zip”

Put the three files (be_movie, be_album & be_photo) on the memory card of the phone
Using root explorer (or equivalent), place the three files inside the folder: /system/etc

Now we have to change the file build.prop of the ROM
To do this go to /system and open the file build.prop (finger pressed on the choice and chose the option "Open with editor", go to the end of the file and add the following lines:

# Sony Bravia Engine Service
ro.service.swiqi.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi.enable=1

And we recorded the file build.prop

Now we go to the terminal emulator and write:

su (to give the root permissions)

And wrote the following lines:

busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_photo
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_movie
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_album
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_photo
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_movie
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_album

Restart the Xperia Miro!!

Bravia engine enabled and working!

Regards,
Jorge Moreira

I did everything you said but it didn't work for me! What could be the reason?

    "be_photo" doesnt actually work on MIRO... You need to have "be_album" file to work properly.... I have done it on my Miro and the difference can be surely seen...

    Hi,

    I was curious about what you said and decided to try.

    I honestly did not notice any improvement, but I leave here again get the zip with "be_album" included for those who want to test.

    They copy what is inside the zip file to /system/etc

    Now we go to the terminal emulator and write:

    su (to give the root permissions)

    And wrote the following lines:

    busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_album
    busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_album

    Restart the Xperia Miro!
