Its an app that alters your host files to block adds in other apps and in the browser. Requires root. Have been using for years.

Not much difference, but for me Adfree keeps the host files better on reboots.

they are very similar. but ive been using adfree on all my devices since 2009, so im pulled more toward adfree.

No blank page... Just the streamed ads are blank.

Give me a link and I'll take a screen. I don't know which pages have prominent ads as I've been blocking them for years.

On a side note I do have to edit the hosts file occasionally to allow certain sites, as taptu and feedly won't redirect correctly for some of my feeds if they are blocked.


Edit I'll add a few sites. Obviously the ads are blocked in apps too which is the main benefit I find.

Thank you. After flash new ROM, I tried to restore my backup from adfree and after install it says that my version is too old. Then I found this thread. Thanks.
