Hello, it is working fine in my galaxy 22 ultra. Thank you for sharing. How can I increase the domain rules to a higher number? I know that it sounds unnecessary but I would like to test a higher number. Thanks again.
Decompile and modify the “.line 42”,in the .apk/class.dex/com/fusionjack/adhell3/tasks/DomainRxTaskFactory/,the hexadecimal number “0xc350” limited to 50 000,modify the next line code “if-le v1, :cond_4b” to “if-gez v1, :cond_4b”, After modification, there is no limit.Hello, it is working fine in my galaxy 22 ultra. have you experienced any side effects with your device after using this method?I got mine to work. With NotifyRDS after I had a grey screen with EMM with leaving take media out checked.
Here are my complete steps that I did which finally worked.
1. Install NotifyRDS app.
2. Launch Notify and enable admin as requested and get Knox key (all three green).
3. from resents clear it
4. enable secure folder from settings, you need some security, I did pattern.
5. add NotifyRDS to secure folder and launch from and fully enable and get Knox key as before.
6. clear it from resents again
7. Remove admin app and uninstall NotifyRDS from normal system
8. open secure folder and try to remove NotifyRDS (fails, blocked by security policy even with admin removed)
9. in secure folder hit three dots, settings/more/uninstall, UNCHECK the default "take media out of secure folder". (I think this was the key for me.)
10. Install adhell from #686 above.
11. without opening it, enable it in device admin apps
12. Loaded without issue.
My favorite use of Adhell is the ability to disable services and receivers without disabling an app. So Google Play Services and Samsung apps can be limited without the issues disabling might cause. Such as not start at boot.
Does anybody have safe services , receivers, activities list that you can share with the rest of us?
yes, toomany rules will obviously increase power consumption、in a incredible number of rules, the consumption of Internetweb loading will be much slow.have you experienced any side effects with your device after using this method?
Thank you. I'm going to stick with the default list and block chrome and edge. So far it has been working well.yes, toomany rules will obviously increase power consumption、in a incredible number of rules, the consumption of Internetweb loading will be much slow.
Good day.
AdHell uses Android's firewall to block outgoing requests to ad servers without using a VPN.Could anyone tell me what is different between adhell3 vs other adblock solution (like DoH, DoT, or adblock VPN app), in term of blocking ad.
Thank you.
Still not clear enough for me.AdHell uses Android's firewall to block outgoing requests to ad servers without using a VPN.
To be able to block ads without AdHell, you have to use a VPN apps that is made to let you customize network rules. Using a VPN uses différent network rules than Android's without it, as all network requests go through there to be secured before being set on the Internet.
DoH, Dot and such are a different things. It's only about encrypting DNS requests. You can now do that with a recent Android with its Private DNS setting.
Still, a VPN app can you let you customize rules more thoroughly, like not only filtering DNS request.
(I'm not an expert so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
The VPN has its own network configuration and all traffic is routed there so it also may have its own "firewall" rules. I don't know how much it is limited in comparison of Android's one.Still not clear enough for me.
So adhell3 just modifies Android firewall, and blocking ads is Android firewall's responsibility.
Ads block VPN is different since it blocks ads by itself.
Am I right?
Good day RRiven, it seems that in Beta 3 on Galaxy S21 the activation method no longer works
That is what we are seeing, Android 13 has it fixed.Good day RRiven, it seems that in Beta 3 on Galaxy S21 the activation method no longer works
It is not working anymore?
As of now, several users are reporting if it is working, it stays working when you upgrade. However, if it ever stops working you can't get it working again. It is not working anymore?
Should I upload to UI 5.0 later then....
Sorry , somehow your pm was overlooked, it was too short and incomprehensible so I forgot about that somehow. Good news is you find your own method.I activated the license in some of my own combined ways, I guess that is the method that currently works, but no one from here sent me a tutorial because none available on the internet works on android 13. I managed to combine some things and activate adhell
Very unfortunate about samsungs policy changes indeed, tried getting a partner account but was rejected... Might give it another try with some extended information (now as the bare basics, hoped it would be a semi-automatic thing but seems they actually properly check).
Using Adguard premium in the meantime, but adhell would be my preferred choice. Unfortunately no valid license anymore so too bad...
