It seems Xiaomi started pushing advertisements all over miui like file explorer, cleaner, security, browser, downloads , music , themes and much more. Are they enabled on our beloved device too ? Did anyone started experiencing them?

Unfortunately, these ads are present on POCO F1 as well. Xiaomi believes the revenue generated by these ads allow them to keep the phones affordable so it's not like they will stop if users complain. These ads or recommendations (as Xioami likes to call them) are enabled by default on all Xioami phones except Mi A1 & Mi A2 (Android One phones). However, Xiaomi has provided the option to disable these ads. Only problem is that these ads cannot be turned off by simply toggling a setting but we have to go the settings menu of almost every MIUI app and then turn them off.
Here is a detailed guide to turn off ads on Xiaomi devices

Indeed it is present in our device as well...i think it is more annoying in MiUi10...i am on latest beta and sometimes have popup ads out of nowhere even using non MiUi apps like Youtube or Pubg .. every 4-5 times i unlock chrome leads me to a new ad tab...One more reason for me to switch ROM...MiUi9 was only showing in Mi apps,so was not big concern for me
Thinking of switching to Xiaomi.eu till OMP releases by @CosmicDan

I unlocked the device and uninstalled the bloatwares from it. you can use only few miui apps like file manager for updates and themes manager to personalize the device.

Installing a custom ROM solves the ads issue alright. You can say it is equivalent to replacing the whole engine in a car because the one that came with the car had an issue which manufacturer don't really want to resolve but can be fixed by using some alternate means.
Of course we cannot imagine everyone going for custom ROMs just to get rid of the ads.

Lol... You sound like a car guy\gal... Let's just say it's not it's a car engine since that it's SOC of the device... Let's just say the car's paint job or dashboard...it's nit that hard to change it tho... But I get ur point

IR Camera unlock is the only feature that's making me stick to MIUI . The moment this feature gets ported on custom roms , I am gonna switch away from MIUI
Me too... That stopped me at first... But i backed up my miui in twrp to just try aosp but man... The features and the system responsiveness are smooth and fluid AF plus more battery life and ****load of other stuff... That made the IR camera a balanced trade off... Try it and ull see

Same here (re ir face unlock)

I think I must be in a minority though, in that I never see any ads through miui. I opted out of ads when I first set up the phone, which I assume did the trick.
I don't use miui aps much, but when I do, I don't notice any ad cruft. I use Blokada too, though under miui this seems to let a few ads through to other apps, which never happened with my last phone.
I understood all the preinstalled stuff could be deleted. Unfortunately I've not been able to get rid of the miui gallery or file manager.
Really hope the face unlock gets ported...
