Affordable Car Mount that actually....works?

I've went through 3 different car mounts, all of which simply didn't work. One was an off brand once I got on clearance at work, a complete disaster, Another was a iOttie mount from Amazon that SEEMED to work for awhile, but quickly couldn't get it to stay on the dashboard or the windshield. Finally tried a vent mount that I got on eBay.....That simply made my AC vent pop out if I put the phone on from the weight.

Are there any car mounts for the N4 that are reliable and reasonably priced? Would prefer not to go above $20, maybe $30.

I've been using an Arkon Slim-Grip Ultra and have found this to be really good - so much so that I bought one for our other car.

In one car I use the windscreen suction mount and in the other the mount is attached to a Brodit Proclip.

I've got a Mountek nGroove. It works well but rather than use the CD slot on the stereo I slid it between the stereo and the center console. That way its not blocking the display on the stereo.

This is my fav that I have used so far. I like the one mentioned above by this company too.

Looked this brand up. I think I like the idea of a sun visor mount and the price is right in my ballpark. Thank you!

I use the iMagnet mount on Amazon. It works very well with a case, and it's very study.

The main reason I purchased this one is because I wanted something I can easily pop on and pop off with ease. I like it a lot.

I got one of these years ago, maybe the mountek I got was the first gen of the universal line? Whatever, I got it when I got my Nexus One. It worked great until the pads melted off in the TX heat. Back then there were no replacement pads, so I was out $20 bux.
Yeah this one is their new design. Looks really promising I think. I'll probably review it once I get it!

I searched for years and spent hundreds of dollars (euro for me) on all kind of holders with each new phone i restarted my search for the best one and as with all the units i tested always the custom made brodit ones where the best. Just the cradle is 50 euro and the mount is about the same price . Since it is a modular system for the next phone you only need to order a new cradle . They exist in active power units and passive ones.

I don't know what you mean by affordable, but RAM Mounts make the sturdiest, most versatile mounts in the business. I use the XGrip, and I also attached a diamond plate to my LG WCP700. I have one ball mounted on my console that supports the charger, and another mirror mount ball for the XGrip. The mirror mount connects to your windshield where your mirror does, and the mirror connects to it. Arms are available as short as two inches and as long as five in both aluminum and plastic.

The modularity is nice. When I have a different device, or want to mount elsewhere, I just get another base or cradle. I have cradles for my Nexus 4 and 7, iPod, and golf GPS. Got bases mounted in the truck, boat, and one on a clamp that attaches to the steering column of a golf cart. Oh, and I have a threaded ball that mounts to a standard camera tripod.

The various bases, arms, and cradles run from about 8-20 dollars, so you're looking at about 25-40 bucks for a complete setup.

I got the FoneM8 mount

but I can't find how it turns from vertical to horizontal and vice versa.
In description it mentions 3 joints, but I can find only 2.
Anyone else who has this mount too?

Hehe I got the same one from ebay a few days ago, and today I used it for the first time. It's true that it has two joints, but for turning it from vertical to horizontal (and vice versa) there is no joint.
All you have to do is just press the base (that holds the phone) to the right or to the left and it will turn to the postition you want.

I have to warn you though, that after (just) one or two hours of usage, the base fell from my windshield! To be honest it was a hot day today and the car was parked under the sun, but I wasn't expecting it to just fall so easily. Fortunately I didn't have the phone on the mount at that time...

Gia sou Pano.
What do you mean by pressing right or left?
Like clockwise?
Cause I can't understand how this works when the base is stable, for example when it's attached on the window.
