The OP doesn't say for Note8. You could try but don't be surprised if it doesn't work.
In the devs signature I don't see Note8, so he probably won't build.

I was wondering if porting such rom for testing purposes could be easily doable, i know some things about roms and coding, just dont know where to start. The files seem to be encrypted, any advice?

It's likely because the Kernel is not SELinux Enforcing - It's normal for many Custom Roms - Especially during development - It's not cause for concern ?

But in settings it's showing SElinux: Enforcing. But I think it suppose to be Permissive, not Enforcing.
