Just got a security patch on Emui 9.1...

Change setting of just hicare app open hicare then goto setting then select china as default country. Then in update option of hicare there will be form to apply for 9.1 tick the option and ok then it will automatically redirect you to your updater app and there will be the update. This is only for EVR-AL00 Chinese models not for international versions

Well my friend...i was going to tell you that i have no option to change the country...then i saw that you was calling it Hicare....i was talking about Hisuite...so...Yes... my brain get to understand the mistake i was doing...now iam downloading the 9.1...thank you very much.

Well not all good with the update....i had removed the huawei luncher when i was on 9.0.0.126 and expecting after the update to have Nova for default....but after the update can't have Nova as default as some others say ...my ver is
9.1.0.119 and not 9.1.0.116...maybe that's the reason? They "fixed" it that too?

Just got the update
Procedure
1. Log in with a huawei id
2. Go to hicare app
3. Change the region in settings to china
4. Then check for updates in hicare app
5. Apply for the update
6. Then go to settings and check for update
7. The update will be rolled up for you
8. If you still not seeing the update then use a China vpn
9. Hope this helps everyone

You have the International Version L29, i think this update is rolling out at the moment only for China Version AL00....

I know this may sound redundant, but I am on the EVR-L29 (spanish) model and I am STILL on 9.0.0.189. I know I shouldn't get the newest 9.1 update, but it think it's weird I am stuck on this version.
I changed the region, rebooted, and the last thing I'd try is to set a VPN, but I don't want to.

Any tips or workarounds?

I know but it kind of pisses me off that the L29 didn't get the update a month ago before all this happened. Huawei always drops the ball with their Global versions.

But that's completely insane, mainly because it's been postponed until August, and the 9.1 update has been release WAY before that.
I don't get it, seriously. I love the phone and it's a keeper, but I hate these kind of "regional splitted updates" policies. It's the SAME FRIGGING hardware and it doesn't include anything that would violate anything legally involved, regarding Adolf Trump and the likes.
I don't want the phone operating system updated weekly, but I fear it will be stuck in .189 forever if you're right, while chinese versions are way ahead without any good explanation.

I would be very happy being in your situation because now I would use an Action Launcher and not this Chinese trash.

They have started the update only through hi care app change the country to china in hicare. Because 29 april is the day when it wiol be available for all evr-al00

ALOO update is now 9.1.0.120 (C00E119R1P17). Used the method suggested by TAJ_Rocks to update from 9.0. Its a biggie - about 3.7 GB.

Seems that Huawei Team is reading this forum very often... because they listen to their users :



- They block the Database Unlock Codes

- They Add the third-party Notifications when Screen is off

- They block the option to Remove Stock launcher by ADB Command starting with 195 Update

- They block the option to Remove the Stock launcher by Package Disabler starting with 200 Update



All of these info's were discussed here and only here. There is no way they could have got this info from any elsewhere rather than xda...



Well done, Huawei... you take the worst from your users, but never take any good opinions to Upgrade... I feel sorry i throw my money on you... I should have stick with Xiaomi...
