Right hopefully I'm finally in the right place!

I am on my second Xperia T that keeps rebooting during calls, suspected to be some sort of glitch with the screen locking and wifi on at the same time so I want to try the latest Sony update.

I have previously updated a phone to a custom ROM but on the firmware thread in this forum some dodgy English outlines some additional steps:

- for now Binary method doesnt work so you hawe to
- unlock your boorloader
- flash this kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1922925
- download superuser zip (on website or here - https://rapidshare.com/files/3415386...arm-signed.zip)
- put zip to your internal memory
- flash it via Recovery, root will work (tested on my device)

i flashed that kernel, then i have to flash superuser in recovery. the only thing i have to know now is how to get in to recovery mode.

edit: it seems that superuser is included in that kernel ?? i notice it in my app drawer."

So I think I understand that I have to:

1) Unlock the bootloader via Sony

2) Use a flash tool to flash the kernal to support CWM

But I would really appreciate some clarification on the next step(s)

3) So as above, is super user included so I can skip this step? Or otherwise what do I do with superuser.zip? Flash is with the standard recovery?

4) Then install CWM and then at last run this firmware update?

Thanks for help, and patience!

If you just want to flash the 7.0.A.3.195 ftf you can just download flashtool, drag and drop the .ftf into the open window.
Turn phone off and connect it to the pc in flashmode (Instructions in post 2)

You only have to unlock bootloader if you want to flash custom kernel, and that can be done in FASTboot mode (Via cmd window (adb) or flashtool)

There should be no need to root or unlock bootloader if you are flashing a stock .ftf

If I flash the firmware build 7.0.A.3.195 ftf via the flashtool, with a locked bootloader, does it wipe the device or merely update like an OTA would?

Thanks
If you untick the option to wipe data in flashtool then it will not wipe your data.

To be entirely sure though you can wait untill it is available for you officially.

This is totally unrelated to flashing etc but is it possible to compile a list of stock Xperia/ICS apps that can be safely removed with titanium backup etc, would be useful but don't want to screw up anything in the process.

You can always freeze them in titanium backup first to see if your ROM is stable without them. If it is you can uninstall them, if not you can defrost them. Also if you search in xda there are already these lists available

I have a Xperia T LT30P and flashed this one LT30p_7.0.A.3.195_Generic.ftf by Jozinek ( i have also tried with other 3.195 ftf file with the same results)

Ok i have now figured out :) It is working now.

What i have done is 1. flash ftf with flashtool 2. flashed kernel V3 (if i flash kernelV4 it is not working:confused:)

Now it is working

It may not be supported yet then. Try installing some drivers and see.
I mean it can detect my phone connected to the.pc but my phone.is not in the list of the phone on that flashtool.

You will see that the xperia t is also not mentioned but it works when you install the xperia tx drivers...if it works for you, no worries:D
