I'm sorry to hear that you are still not succesfull in unlocking the bootloader. It seems to me that something in your firmware is broken. Then maybe the right solution would be to start from zero: flash the original Xiaomi firmware in fastboot mode (rom here: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html) via MIUI ROM Flashing Tool and then unlock bootloader.
Thank you but reading that page , it states devices marked with a 'star' are locked and require unlock first :(

So I guess I cannot flash fastboot room using flashing tool :crying:

So im trying to flash using MiFlash 2017.4.25.0 From the link you gave me................. I get ERROR Can not find Flash_all.bat Fixed by renaming again to an .rar file .. Trying now to flash china stable

- It has been Flashing for 300s seems like it has hang, what shall i do ??:(

500s , still saying flashing.....

I am quite sure you can flash it in fastboot mode but anyway...

Then try fixing your firmware by updating it through the System-Update:

1. Download the *.zip* file for Mix 2 from here: http://en.miui.com/download-334.html
2. Put it into the internal memory of your smartphone
3. I gues you have already activated Developer Settings.
4. Go to Settings/About Phone/System Update. On the top right you see 3 dots, press them then Choose Update Package/File Manager, then find the firmware in your internal memory, click OK.
5. Try again to unlock bootloader.

Is it worth trying Flashing back to Android 7.1 , from System Update ? Will that work?

With locked bootloader in fastboot mode you should be able to flash only the firmware which ist already in your device.

Ok so it looks like i only go From Global Dev 8.0 to Global Stable 8.0 Cannot go back to 7.1 :(

Ill give my usb-c to usb-c cable a try in fastboot at home as my motherboard has a usbc port

Anyone know if there is a way to bypass the wait period? Its says i have to wait 72hrs before i can unlock it... I sent Xiaomi a email asking if they could expedite it but no response yet.

Got my Mi Mix 2 yesterday. Asked for permission to unlock two weeks ago, got it within 24 hours. Now waiting 72 hours before unlocking the bootloader.

Front camera placement is a minor issue indeed. But it's a fast, good-looking phone! For just over 300 euros.

I got 25hrs left, paid $379.98 on eBay for mine. Its a nice phone for the price for sure. Even comes with a case and screen protector!

Got it from Banggood, it was worth the two weeks waiting for delivery, for €302. It's a blazing fast phone!

I ordered an Elephone S8 before this one, but I sent it back because of a faulty fingerprintscanner and backlight bleed.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this AIO, I have used a computer running on Windows 10. Unfortunately I cannot help you with Linux as I don't have a computer running on Linux. Sorry.

Strange behaviour of your smartphone turning blue! Please read point A.4. as how to check if your bootloader is locked or unlocked....

Hi,

I've rooted my mi mix 2... Unlocked bootloader (without unlock permission) and installed twrp all successfully. However after booting up miui my battery didn't want to charge. The phone plugged into the charger showed as charging but battery wasn't charging. Worried I ****ed something up, I relocked my bootloader which factory resets and worked again... Did the permission thing cause this problem?

Just downloaded the miui app and unlocked.. It was as easy as I just typed. It... Dunno how as everyone had to go through a ton of work... However my battery stopped charging which was extremely weird...
