I can unpack system.img and system.new.dat but It's impossible to repack

same here all goes good but repacing dat cause error for me...make ext4fs error
i eagerly wnt to port and mod some rom for my devices but without repacking ...how cn i start lol

haf of work(unpak .img) fixed wit new ImgExtractor from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64145265&postcount=10
for repak i get err with "incompatibile with windows version"

The only problem I found is that I was trying to mod a mm ROM and after unpacking, modding and repacking the dat files, I replaced them in the original ROM zip file, but it gave me an error while flashing (error executing update-binary) do anyone know why? the scripts from "updater-script" doesnt match with "update-binary" or with phone model, or many other reasons!

But how can that be possible if I didn't touch updater-binary or updater-script? I just decompressed .dat files into a system.img, I edited it and compressed back into dats. Then I replaced them in the rom, without touching the META-INF folder (which includes updater-script and updater-binary).

flash again the rom
after the err go to advanced/ copy log to sdcard and save the log
restore your workng rom, reboot and read the log
will tell you what is wrong
