I got a problem with my sky a830l as my mobile data doesn't turn on.

I'm on stock JB. It was working fine until I took my sim out of the phone and inserted it to my wifi hotspot (for checking purposes). When it's done, I inserted it back to my sky a830l then the issue has started.
Mobile data (2g, 3g, lte) icon doesn't show up whenever I turn the mobile data on. I tried gsm only, wcdma/lte, global and wcdma only, tried turning the phone off for a few hours. tried other sims (same and different network) which work with other phones, but nothing's changed. APN setting is correct. The mobile data doesn't turn on still.

No problem with my sim card as I tried it with my other phone. Call and text work 100%.

I don't know what happened, and I don't know what to do to fix this. please help. TIA

I was able to fix this issue by following the instructions posted on page 62 of this thread.

- Okay, finally! I came here. After a lot of hardwork. I own a Pantech Sky Vega Racer 2 (A-830l). I am having it since with me June but still I am using it without any network coverage. I am just new these rom types of thing. My cell phone is rooted. But, I am just not able to get a rom done on it. Probably getting a new rom would resolve the network issue. Wi-Fi works fine. Please, I literally beg anyone to come forward and guide me a little. Although, I've downloded the, "Cm-10-20121114-Unofficial-ef461.zip" find and transferred it into the memory card. Now, please anyone guide me that what evem I am supposed to do next. I mean, please. I am literally dying to see signals on my cell phone. Really looking forward for anyone's help. Thanks in advance.

Finally....CM10/MIUI/AOKP of A830L/K/S has released...

Steps:

1. Download A830L's rom (All roms are base on CM10).

2. Put it in sd card. Flash the rom using recovery. Double wipe AFTER flashing rom.

Hi, I downloaded CM10 and flashed it but now I am stuck on boot image saying VEGA blah blah blah. I even tried the manual flashing of boot image but dint worked for me. I need your help please it is very much important. kindly reply as soon as possible. thanks

I tried this on both my A830L and A830S. Everything is absolutely perfect on the A830L. Everything is fixed and working properly. I thought it was the same with the A830S, but on the A830S the wifi is never able to connect. It only sees access points, but you can't connect to them.

Hello everyone,

I have an 830k.

Originally I successfully rooted my phone using the 'skyrooting.exe' program.

Recently there was an official software update (OTA) which has appeared to unroot the phone and put back the original settings and bloatware apps.

I can't figure out how to root my phone again.

Each time I try, the phone just goes into 'fastboot mode' with a blank screen on the phone, and a blank fastboot dialogue box on the PC. Nothing happens, then I have to take the battery out to reset the phone, and nothing has changed.

I can't remember if I'm doing the rooting procedure correctly, so could someone check / remind me how to do it?

1: extract the skyrooting zip file (extract in any folder on the PC).
2: double click the 'fastboot' and 'adb' files so they install (I run them from my downloads folder)
3: attach the USB cable, then on the phone select 'USB debugging enabled' and 'turn on USB storage' so that I can copy the 'skyrooting.exe' file to the sd card on the phone.
4: copy 'skyrooting.exe' to the sd card.
5: run 'skyrooting.exe' as administrator.
6: follow instructions in the skyrooting program (select model / android version).
7: wait until rooting is complete.

That's what I do, but each time, the phone goes into fastboot mode, then a blank fastboot dialogue cmd box pops up on my computer, and nothing happens, then the skyrooting program on my PC become unresponsive.

Could the new OTA update from Pantech have prevented this method of root?

So.. I'm guessing the owners of this phone have moved onto bigger and better phones.

The only reason I require root is to install viper4android, as the stock EQ sound effects app is dreadful, it constantly clips and will actually turn off in the middle of playback resulting in a horrible flat sound. As someone said earlier on in this thread, the headphone jack is not good, this could be solved with a decent EQ app, unfortunately, all the non-root EQ apps are laggy, unresponsive and generally poorly put together.

A shame my phone unrooted itself after update, viper4android is a great app.
