Well, this is what I have tried before your last response.Note: Custom Recovery is used to flash custom ROMs and do nand back-up, also some other useful things. So, I strongly recommend that you keep custom recovery.
)
TWRP backup = Nandroid type of back up. Nandroid, back-up your entire ROM including App and the data associated with it. Of course System apps as well. Basically, everything in your phone will be backed-up. In this was you can always go back to your previous ROM in case you flashed a ROM and didn't like it or in case you missed up your phone and wanna go back to the way it was.Well, this is what I have tried before your last response.
I was trying to do the backup in TWRP custom recovery mode, I realized that there wasnt any TWRP custom recovery since I already flashed the stock recovery. therefore, I flashed the TWRP Custom Recovery and did the backups.
I have not tried anything else until I'm sure of what I'm doing.
I heard people mentioned about Nandroid backup with TWRP alot, but I did not understand the difference between making backup in TWRP recovery and Nandroid.
Could you please help me understand the difference and how do I make a Nand backup?
Thank you very much.
ahhh I see. thanks alot for the explanations.TWRP backup = Nandroid type of back up. Nandroid, back-up your entire ROM including App and the data associated with it. Of course System apps as well. There is another type of back-up which is through Titanium back-up app. This app is capable of backing-up your apps + data associated it with it. It also do so many other useful things. But Titanium will not back up your ROM. And this app is useful in case you flashed a new ROM and wanted your previous apps and data to be transferred to your new ROM with one click.
I hope that helped you..... let me know if it workout for you.
I see. It's up to u. But, remember those ppl who develop ROMs for us (users) they been doing it for a long time. Plus they get donation from ppl even though they don't ask for it. Usually they ask to thank them. If u capable of donating then why not.ahhh I see. thanks alot for the explanations.
I may try to flash stock boot image to see if it helps before doung anything else though.
I still like to flash Jedi Master 13 later, but I want to see what kind of bugs the rom curently has first.
my major concern is the privilege personal data that develpments may code in key logger or spywares.
I know they probably have not done that, but that is just my concern. They can create an operation system rom, I'm sure they can put key logger or spywares in there. It's just a matter of putting our trust on the good people.

Anyway, just to let u know u don't have to download Jedi Master ROM. My method also works on stock ROM rooted.
In the stock rom rooted case, u only need to use Triangle away app and it should work. U wouldn't need to flash a stock boot img because it's already there. Try it out.
Ya I knew it came out but didnt try it YETAllshare Cast won't work because I removed some bloatwares. In order for Allshare Cast to work, I need to do factory reset, wipe everything, and follow your steps.
Jedi Master 14 is already out and people said it's super fast and awesome. Have you tried it and see if it works with Allshare Cast Dongle?

you dont need to start fresh. Just flash the Stock BOOT img using Galaxy note 2 Toolkit and you should fine. Unless you did some bloatware changes on your Jedi Master ROM.Hey, so can I install the stock boot image from an existing jedi master install that I have had for awhile? Or do I need to go to stock and start fresh?

You welcome, glad it answered your questions.many... many... thanks... i've looking for couple days for this answer : "AllShare Cast works with Stock Boot img only"

Thanks bro
:good:
I didn't try yet. Its going crazy at work and kinda busy with family. But I promise will work on it very soon and check if there is a way to make this work. Now that the latest stock firmware (T889UVBMD1) and JM14 have been out for a while, wondering if you have found a way to use the latest stock boot img in JM14, since the GN Toolkit v4.10 is still on the previous boot img? I'm now on JM 14 and tried to flash the latest stock kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102380 over Saber kernel but AllShare didn't work even after trying every possible configuration in Triangle Away. Only way I can get AllShare to work in JM14 is still to use the toolkit to write the older boot img. Have you had any better luck?

No worries! And let me know if there's anything I can help with. I have some time.I didn't try yet. Its going crazy at work and kinda busy with family. But I promise will work on it very soon and check if there is a way to make this work.
Thanks guys for your patient.....![]()
Quick update, I was able to make it work but there was a small problem. No worries! And let me know if there's anything I can help with. I have some time.
If you open up the odin file for UVBMD1 from sammobile you can pull out the boot.img from thereQuick update, I was able to make it work but there was a small problem.
I make it work by flashing Stock boot img for UVBMB1 with a base-band UVBMD1. I used the same steps for the note 2 ToolKit. The out come, is that you will have an older kernel version. In addition, you will notice your dongle wont be able to get a software upgrade. Once you will connect to the dongle it will show you "Unfortunately software upgrade failed" but your phone will stay connected and everything work smoothly.
Currently, I am contacting some of the developers to teach me how to extract stock boot img from stock ROM. All the articles it show how to extract it from your own device. In my case I want to be able extract it just by using my computer.
Anyway, if anyone know how to extract stock boot img from a stock ROM please contact me.
Thanks guys for your patient. I am doing my best :highfive:
