Hey. I flashed custom rom "tweaked 2.5" with stock rom and everything was working. Don't forget, you must have triangle away for this to work.

1. Flash tweaked (currently 2.4.1 is available. 2.5 still beta but 2.4.1 should be fine)
2. Flash stock kernel. Usually while flashing tweaked it will ask u to flash stock kernel so go ahead and select that.
3. Download triangle away and reset ur flash counter.
4. Connect to all share cast dangle.

Enjoy,

I am not sure about Google wallet. First I never tried to install Google wallet but from what I know is that Google wallet can be installed on any ROM by moding it. If u know what I mean.
Look, do a nand backup and go my route and then try to mode Google wallet.

Alright guys, installed tweaked 2.5 and followed instructions per rom....btw, is a beautiful rom...but for some odd reason, my phone was still having issues n wldnt connect to allshare cast, it tries to connect but in the end my connection keeps dropping. ...will give 2.4.1 a try using cmw instead twrp....will report back

Update, after trying both tweaked roms I was still having issues, so I installed the latest root66, lo n behold, it was able to connect to allshare cast, installed twrp, and restored to my phone. ...its working fine now, funny thing is my phone status says 'modified' but who cares.....

I just bought an allshare cast. Works perfect with tweaked 2.4.1 but for some reason can't get it to stay connected on my note 10.1

Anyways is the aspect ratio off by a lil bit for anyone? On my TV missing the tiniest bit on all sides of screen. Kinda sucks with ocd lol

I was never able to get casting to work after moving from bone stock. Learned it was because the flash counter got incremented? Been using a DLNA player and am very happy with that.

Finally found the time to do some flashing and just flashed mr robinsons stock rooted. Did triangle away even though I think I lost CWM which is fine because I wanted to test with stock recovery. Device status in settings says modified but binary status is official. So... I connected no problem but it is making me use Wi-Fi. If I disconnect from wifi it kills Allshare. I don't remember ever having to use wifi before and that was part of the reason why I bought it. Does anyone else notice this or is it just me?

Edit: OK, so found out I have to "forget" my home wifi in order for it to work without it. Wasted an hour on the phone with Samsung trying to figure that one out. Three people insisted that WIFI was necessary for it to work.

2nd Edit: I'm guessing the last app update for the dongle, did something to force the phone to connect to WIFI. Apparently there is some confusion, as even the Samsung rep I spoke to today as well as his colleague who has one at home, whether WIFI is necessary or not. Let me guarantee you, as this was the main reason for me buying the dongle, that it is NOT necessary. I don't remember it connecting to wifi when I first had it because if it was doing that I would have been pissed. So obviously the update has changed and the only reason I could see why they would force it to do this is to save you on your data. But there is no option to give you the choice anyway. The only way I could get it was by making the phone forget my WIFI network but that's just a PITA. The area of my house I bought this to use in is on the opposite side of the house from my router. Why send it all the way there and then back again, bogging down my already slow WIFI? I could just buy an MHL adapter at that rate, for a lot cheaper.

I could see how this might be presenting a problem for a lot of people in their connection issues. I really don't understand them doing this because the whole point of this device is no WIFI connection necessary. Basically, if I had WIFI I could do almost anything this does already other than screen mirroring so what's the point?

All in all, my point of this post is, if your WIFI is ****ty, this may be why it's not connecting for most of you and you need to "forget" your network. If your WIFI is good, and you don't mind that it's using it, then maybe your better off. Using the WIFI defeats the purpose, but if it helps to work, it's better than nothing.

I was having major issues connecting to my AllShare dongle with my Note 3. It would see it but never make a connection. So after reading your post and thinking how ridiculous that sounded to 'forget' my Wifi saves and being at wits end I decided to try it. Low and behold it worked! Not only that but it immediately downloaded a firmware update to the dongle. After the update, my phones screen came up on my monitor and it was in 1080p! "WHAT THE ....?", I exclaimed. When I originally bought this a few months ago it was for my Note 2 and it only did 720p with the dongle even though my HDMI adapter did 1080. When I first tried AllshareCast after just purchasing my shiny new Note 3 it again was only 720p so I just assumed, as so many others in the forums did, that that was the limitation of the device. Well hallelujah it does 1080p now after the firmware update! It still gets a little pixelly when there is lots of motion as before but that's just the nature of wireless HD from a phone I guess. Very happy now. Thanks a bunch for pointing this out!

Almost forgot to mention something:
The device uses WiFi no matter what but it connects directly to the dongle with WiFi Direct not your network. For some reason it appears the two functions (WiFi and WiFi Direct) are getting intertwined when you have access points saved. You've uncovered a bug and I hope Samsung addresses this. Maybe shoot them an email?

Thought about it but not sure how much good it would do. Samsung CS insisted that wifi was necessary for the dongle to work. The rep I spoke to even had one at home and said it needed wifi even though that was the main reason I bought it because I didn't have wifi at the time. I understand the reason for it "wanting" to use wifi but "requiring" it has got to be a bug.

I think he meant that the phone requires use of its own wifi not your home network. I don't have wireless networking in my home other than my phones built in wifi. The phone and dongle communicate with each other in a closed 'WiFi Direct' configuration. So yes, wifi is required, but just on your phone and is turned on when you activate screen sharing (AllshareCast).
