Just to be sure. You're rooted, using a root file explorer, with root access enabled? There's a lot in that folder.I meant I see that folder but empty![]()

Look up "Advanced Signal Status" on Play store. It works for me when I want it to just stick with a 3G signal. Has some nice information on what kind of signal you are getting also. You do have to be rooted to use all the features.Hi guys,
I want to be able to disable 4G altogether. For some reason I get very bad 4G signal where I work.(Indianapolis!!!) But, for some reason I get fantastic 2G/3G signal.(-85 1X, -115 LTE.) I even talked with a Verizon rep at the store who suggest I try to do it within the phones info. Of course I can't get access to that. I have no rooted my Note 3 and wish to disable 4G. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would forever be thankful!
I figured this would be worth a shot to download and try myself. Can you shed some light on what setting within the application you set to obtain solely 3G? The CDMA AUTO (PRL) is what I would set it on. Keeps my phone from trying to find 4g when there is none.I figured this would be worth a shot to download and try myself. Can you shed some light on what setting within the application you set to obtain solely 3G? There are so many options!

I'm using root file explorer and when I navigate to HiddenMenu it gives me a list of options to use to edit it but none seem to open it. Should I be using some editor specific to the task.Thought I'd start a thread to compile everything we know about "ServiceMode" into a single thread, rather than having to go all over the place to find stuff.
What I know as of now:
As of now, I'm aware that you can enable access to the ServiceMode on a rooted VZW Note 3 by editing the /efs/carrier/HiddenMenu file and changing it from OFF to ON (uppercase is required).
When in root explorer..if you tap on HiddenMenu you will get a list of what to open it with. The top item is Text Viewer which is not an editor. About halfway down is the Text Editor option. Use that.I'm using root file explorer and when I navigate to HiddenMenu it gives me a list of options to use to edit it but none seem to open it. Should I be using some editor specific to the task.

How old is the phone? Original release of the phone has hardware issues coinciding with signal problems. Samsung corrected it sometime later.I'm not sure if this thread is at all active still, but after going through all of it I can't find the answer to my ONE question:
I am using a VZW Note 3 on AT&T since that model comes unlocked out of the box, but for the most part only get 1 (and sometimes not even 1) bar of HSPA+ at home.
Is there any setting I should be using?
Thanks in advance
I really honestly have no idea; I traded a phone for it.How old is the phone? Original release of the phone has hardware issues coinciding with signal problems. Samsung corrected it sometime later.
Not too sure. I got mine the first few weeks, and mine says hw version .07. Mine's only really crappy at home, but my neighbor has a network extender.I really honestly have no idea; I traded a phone for it.
Is there any way I can know that? Cause I literally have no signal ever.
