[2]UE SETTING & INFO > [1]SETTING > [1]PROTOCOL
[1]AS (AUTONOMOUS SYSTEM CONFIGURATION)
This menu allows you to mod:
-[1] FREQUENCY LOCK on certain bands. Best left at full in order to receive all frequencies when traveling. can expeirment to see which frequencies work best stationary.
-[2] RELEASE VERSION, Read more
here about what they do. I'd leave UE revision level at Dynamic to receive coverage in all areas. however LTE 3gpp can be updated to release 10 however 64 qam may not be supported in all areas which will lead to more loss of 4g. Release 9 still supports 16qam
-[3] DUAL MODE IMPROV - No selection
-[4]DRX control (Discontinuous Reception & Transmission), factory setting is on, (Advantageous to battery life)
-[5] SECURITY CONTROL (Not sure what these do)
-AMR CONTROL (Adaptive Multi Rate) Speech coding to improve call quality. Read more
here
[2]NAS (NETWORK AUTONOMOUS SYSTEM CONFIGURATION)
**Sub menu
> [1]NETWORK CONTROL
This menu allows you to mod:
- [1]Service Domain, CS + PS. PS = Packet Switched or GPRS = General Packet Radio Service. Colloquillay referred to as 2.5G. CS = Circuit Switched. Colloquially referred to as 2G data.
-[2]Acquisition Order. when booting or searching for signal this tells the system which to search for first. I'd leave it at automatic, as either may become available before the other. however GSM is typically slower at aquiring signal than UMTS
-[3]PLMN Cell selection Read more
here. But automatic is best
-[4]Modify the band preference of each signal mode.
-[5]Run only select modes.
**
[2]AUTO ANSWER - Self explanatory
[3]SELLOUT SMS - ??
[4] DUN ENABLE/DISABLE (Dial Up Network)
[5]LTE RELATED SETTINGS - Don't phuck with the APN Rules they are carrier set, and only modified for unlocked devices.
[3]CDMA
Not much to play with here
eHRDP- is like the middle man between 3g and 4g speeds. Leave on for good non 4g data.
RTRE - Runtime RUIM Enable -- (R-UIM) Removable User Identity Module verizon users leave sim on.
Thats all I feel like messing with right now.
