Wow. The xda entity is in the US. Lets see what chief content officer, responsible for executing policies has to say about it.
Some rules are not binding. Hierarchy exists within the member ranks of all forums to a greater or lesser extent. This provides site cohesion, structure and a form of leadership.
Rank has it's privileges and is achieved over time with effort. It's not an arbitrary circumstance.
This site gives titles that confers ranking, these titles are earned as they should be.
We don't need to do any of that. This community is running fine for almost 2 decades.
We are not a company where "members" request services from developers managed by "forum staff".
We are a community of smartphone enthusiasts.
We have developers who develop software for smartphones we love and share it in their own free time.
We have members who support each developer and other members.
We have members who appreciate the work & effort put in by devs & members silently.
If someone is trolling, insulting someone or causing the thread to derail, mods will step in.
Thats how internet communities work. That's how XDA works.
The channel would be any other member of the moderator committee, any other senior moderator or an admin. What is the appropriate channel when the leader of the moderation committee is involved?
That is indeed odd but I'm quite sure XDA can't do much about other websites indexing our forum. There is an email address on the page you've linked to, I recommend contacting them about it. I also wouldn't worry about it too much as such websites usually contain so much of these things that barely anyone will land on "your" page. If you need maintenance on your post/thread, just report it and detail what needs to be done.Thank you for this thread.
It just posted on help in developer and right after that, I was going to search informations that could help me (Already do that before but found nothing very helpful) and just typed some keywords (oukitel wp15 magisk root bootloop, exactly matching some of the words of my ancien post ) on google and found what ?
How ???
This is just like an interface website who copy and post the top of the topic and a button "Read the full story" sending right to my post on the xda forum.
I'm just asking about authors right not only for me but also for the website ? does it authorized this website to collect a snip of any forum post ? how ? does it is included on the rules or terms ? (I think no, it's included or mentioned nowhere)
So.... Yes... ?
Thank you.
edit #1: Forgot to said that yes I admit, the thread is published on the wrong section and I wanted to delete it but after thinking, this post would got an invalid link or be removed from the website (opera...) so no more proof
(Think before acting not like me)

I'm not sure to understand ? from who ? XDA or the mentioned website ?If you need maintenance on your post/thread, just report it and detail what needs to be done.
Well in any case it's a good thing to make us aware, perhaps administration will look into this. It's been a while since I've studied copyright law and I'm not even sure how much it's similar in the US but I do recall that it's allowed to publish a part of a text somewhere, certainly if there's a link to the source. I could be wrong, I'm no legal expert. Thanks for your reply,
I'm not with you about the fact that XDA cannot do anything about that. Like a policy to deny any kind of copy, partial or integral, or more technically a domain redirect check (Like where the link come from) for statistics and seeing what websites are using the most direct xda links ect... But if they want ? Or IDK how the administrative/technical part of XDA is.
IDK I'm just reporting that.
Nothing to apologise aboutI'm not sure to understand ? from who ? XDA or the mentioned website ?
If from XDA I have all control in it (in what is basically allowed for post from members from themselves), I can edit it, delete it ect...
From the mentioned website ? IDK
Thank you !
(Sorry if I badly express myself, I'm not a native English speaking person)
As long as you don't go too nuts; more than once every 24 hours. Of course I could be mistaken. Is bumping threads a thing here?
I am not talking bumping my own post to get attention/get to the first page. I mean the bump we all leave indicating you don't know an answer but is hoping that the OP get an answer usually looks like this:
The mods work in teams, see the listi didnt mean last post from me.
who is the mod for "your playstore is blocked. make requests here" ? (maybe not exact title) just curious. also "FairEmail" thread"?
hope this is ok to ask.![]()
Wait I should probably stop using the word bumping from hereon. As long as you don't go too nuts; more than once every 24 hours. Of course I could be mistaken.
Personally I like seeing some old threads dredged up![]()
Reading that gave me a headache. Maybe stick to "bumped"Wait I should probably stop using the word bumping from hereon.
I asked could I just post some interesting opinion/my take, from mostly question and reply to mostly questions with the word bump? I have no intentions of bumping, but I am posting it and it will get bumped.
The mods who moderate there are the ones of team "All other forums" (refer to the Gdoc shared by sd_shadow).i didnt mean last post from me.

That doesn't make much sense to me. Did you have a specific situation in mind? Our forum rules state the following (the word 'bump' is actually in there! ^_^):Wait I should probably stop using the word bumping from hereon.

It's common sense, really. Members that keep shouting for answers will receive a kind nudge to stop doing so. This would happen in RL as well:5. Create a thread topic or post a message only once, this includes external links & streaming media.
As a large forum, we don't need unnecessary clutter. You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time so it might take a while before you receive an answer.

I am not being Gary. That doesn't make much sense to me. Did you have a specific situation in mind? Our forum rules state the following (the word 'bump' is actually in there! ^_^):
It's common sense, really. Members that keep shouting for answers will receive a kind nudge to stop doing so. This would happen in RL as well:
Gary: "Does anyone know what time Wendy's closes?"
Everyone around Gary: ...
Gary: "Seriously guys, what time does Wendy's close?!"
Bob: "We don't know dude."
Gary: "SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW WHAT TIME IT CLOSES! GIVE ME THE ANSWER!!"
Sarah: "Shut up and leave, Gary"
XDA is about collaborating, any information related to the question can be of great value so please do! It has to be on topic, of course. If someone asks about a recovery image for a Xiaomi 12 device and you tell them about your hike in the Alps last weekend it will undoubtedly be a great story but not very helpful to the person asking the question. You can also just have the same problem and add more context by sharing how it manifests on your end. More people talking about the problem = more people looking for the answer.(...)
Is it okay to post something other than an answer for a {question}?
Like my experience with a said tool but not direct answer?
Last 3-4 of my 6 post reports have been dismissed without even getting "review"ed (I checked back the post by clicking on "report post" button and it doesnt even show "this post has been reported" notice). What could be reason to this? I want to think that it is not personal...
I am unable to private message anyone on xda website, only the option to send by email.
