why on earth would you need two roms
if OTA updates work then visuals work as well

not only two, I always use three roms
I like it to have a choice

and no, the updates worked fine but the zip from nick couldn't be flashed by cwm,
installation failed

but no problem, I modified the framework-res and copied it to system/framework

offcourse it wont install via cwm mate you need to flash it via romcustomizer .
Its not a cwm zip

Yes, preview should be JPG, the background must be png

Follow up question, does the resolution have any impact? Because i've seen some have 800x1200 and some like 500x500.
But the Note has a resolution of 800x1280?

the 500x500 ones are one color images that can be stretched to fit the screen without a problem.

The ones with pictures have to be at least close to the dimensions of the screen for image not to stretch

I'm thinking about porting my super old Star Wars theme.

But, i'm not sure about a few things. First off, can the Theme Engine change XML on the fly (animated notification shade)? It would likely require a complete framework-res or systemui replacement and not just vrtheme scripting (or whatever Alliance uses).

I haven't looked too deep to see how the battery,wifi,signal icons work either, so not sure if I can import the G14 Steel Blue status bar icons (because of the color picker). I put in a bunch of Star Wars icons into Settings, and that is super straightforward with the Alliance visuals. Not sure how to push the R2 beep beep notification sounds to /system/media though...

Maybe if I get another snow day away from the office...

Yes. 512x512 is the default Holo size that gets stretched to 800x1280. Actually, Android is pretty awesome about re-sizing PNG files on the fly. Keeping the file size small is more important.

I know exactly what u mean m8,

but unfortunately I can´t flash anything with the Rom Customizer or AllianceOTA,
because for each little thing I want to change I have to go to recovery and flash the Dualboot Aroma first to mount the SD Slot2,
where I flashed the very cool Alliance v1 (look at my signature - all great Roms )

so u see I´ve to go that way or do it manually
and a blanco zip for ur rom would be great for me
but how I said before it´s not so important

no no,
that´s not a big problem at all
I love to dualboot since Chuandinh started here
and by so much good roms around here it´s hard to decide which one to use as daily driver,
so I decided for the three that I like the most :laugh:

sometimes it´s hard, because Chuandinh stopped developmet for his project, and the point with the preload partition isn´t really nice too,
but it makes still fun,
and that´s the prior reason we are here, or?

Seems the statement is goin the right direction....

i sure have fun as always but we have multiple devices and for note no one is contributing .
And its not about fun
I take my ROMs very serious which can be noticed on the time i put in.

Has othing to do with fun or sad or whatever.
N7000 is the only device where users dont contribute.... all they do is ask ask ask ask now thats sad

for me it does not matter i will always run my theme with my MODs.
All thats needed to make the phone fly and be special.
But users want themes and dpi mods and **** .... well maybe its time to learn this interesting android stuff

at our german home forum it´s more politely and not only asking for etas etc

and that u spend a lot of time in ur roms and take it serious it can be seen in the quality of the roms :thumbup:

My forum is very different as welll.

Here it sometimes seems like this: I ask to pls not drop questions on ETA or MODs adn not 5 sseconds later 3 users drop questions in that direction.......

yes, I follow a few threads and it´s always the same with these guys
the best way is just ignore such posts, I guess

and I really hope that ur not stopping development here on xda,
because ur roms are always with the best to get for our beloved Note and I and a lot of other people love it

at the moment a lot of people are trying ur v3 in my home forum and very enthusiastic

but maybe we should stop talking off topic
