has anyone taken a run at his configuration to see where the magic is? - can it be integrated in the working build (perhaps an alpha 3 available for testing in a day or so?).

I really wish I were qualified in deep rom hacking... I get the jist and I have a decent background in technical problem solving, but i'm not a programmer and I'm not familiar enough with these types of embedded systems to produce anything near the level of quality that would be needed for public distribution... however, if we can get something stable enough for daily use with wifi and rotation, i'd be happy to beta test.

OK I got further then i did before but I still need to find the right driver.

I gotta somewhat agree with ya here man, i feel bad for even posting this as its not on topic. The way i feel is if you dont know enough to contribute to the dev side of things, like I, then dont make the comments about ETAs, what if you try this exc, you should be flashing it your self and providing feedback.

Ok sorry for my off topic post, and pls ppl lets stay on topic, if you can contrib then do so if not lets keep the thread clean.

And for the love of God please no one respond to my post if you disagree just think a bad though of me or something lol we dont need 2 pages arguing on this.

But the Font Changer app says "Write Access for the system partition was not established on your device"

Write access is not same as ropt access..
Use adb....Connect thru usb and run to remount system in rw mode..
adb remount

Or use droid tweaker app...

OK I got further then i did before but I still need to find the right driver.

The driver you need is compiled when you build the kernel, named dhd.ko, sometimes folks (like technomancer) have renamed it to bcm4329.ko. The main issue is letting libhardware_legacy.so know what module you're using, and setting a few other variables.

Notice I relocated dhd.ko to /system/lib/modules, most folks keep it in the initramfs, in /lib/modules.

1st boot, yay!

30 sec boot, around 1m updating to 177...
my wallpaper, my apps running in background, so says superuser.
GSM working... no credit! hahaha
SMS received as soon as I put credit in, no notifications.
great dialing, always need to click speaker to hear.

Please update OP with keyboard and rotate fix as any other tips gathered... I've been reading them for the last couple weeks but cant remember them all.

great! already watching videos! they dont take up the whole screen. top and bottom bar.. not a worry for now.
after going into MX Video Player, I'm all on Landscape. And got video zoom now! Got keyboard working.. and my Perfect Keyboard with split Tab layout working as always!

This is clearly the best Android OS ever! Fast and full of nice effects and landscape usefullness.
CPU a little too warm with little use. Just warm for now. Didn't watch a whole movie or anything.

Now let me try to play with whats important. No 3G, no Wifi.

I am SGT-P1000N, modem JP3. Screenshots by QtADB.

PS: havent used the new build.prop in OP yet.. wanna check the diffs first.

Apparently you can boot this on cdma sprint tabs as well (very long boot time at first) and P1000R!

This build does not contain the 3 soft buttons we see on Galaxy Nexus. Reason being we have capacitive buttons on the Galaxy Tab. The 3 soft buttons are optional for devices without any buttons.

1. Plug galaxy Tab into computer
2. Mount USB storage
3. Copy ICS ROM to SDCard
4. Reboot to recovery
5. Perform a backup
6. Wipe data
7. Flash ICS ROM
8. Reboot
9. Reboot.
10. ???
11. Profit

The models are not that different, slower clock and different GPU only, I think. The p1010 doesn't even have phone, so less functions to worry about LOL

after pushing the build.prop from OP I cant unlock the Tab. I can only click the corner soft button, see shot. (and it's the correct corner)
rotation is landscape but the oposite of what it should be (soft buttons on the right, so you dont cover the light sensors with your hand).
There are 2 lcd_density entries in that build.prop too.

ro.sf.hwrotation=90 gets it working again.

1. since wifi , 3g dont work... is there a way we can enable USB tethering ? or somehow share internet from laptop to the tab thru usb?
2. Titanium backup says no root.. Root seems to be ok ..rooted using swm.. got prmpts etc.. enabled always allow.. Anyone's TB working? This will help in bkp/restore apps/configs etcs...

btw was able to take some screenshots using screenshot built app .. running from adb http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/1...ng-native-screenshot-capabilities-to-android/ color is false though
camera app running was able to take the screeshot and the camera view was captured well..
