anyone can tell me how to install this properly coming from stock?
First I flashed xxkpe, clean install. then rooted using xda-bam universal v14betafix
then full wipe, then flashed this cm9... but It can not boot !!!
after the bootanimation, the screen gradually turns off and become black, then a message appears: (KERNEL PANIC, UPLOAD MODE)

what the hell is that?? is the i9003 so poor like this unlike my i9000 or is there something I am doing wrong ?????

I want to move to cm9 or cm10 cuz the device always make random reboots and shows the ****ty message (kernel Panic...) even when I update to the latest stock rom.

cm9 is more stable than cm10 remember that cm10 is only at stage 3, Dhiru will fix that soon.

I have noticed this and the reason why I have uploaded the build is just to test the performance of the new GPU driver vs the Older one. Since I don't use the phone daily, I am not aware if there was any actual improvement in normal day to day usage.

I suspect they have something to do with the panel.

I suspect something related to v-sync, since the graphical glitches here seems more like screen tearing. Anyway, can't find the new PVR kernel driver sources anywhere. Care to share them with me?

EDIT: Confirmed its V-sync. The teared part is some frame behind the current frame, leaving the effect fairly noticeable.

to those who are complaining about battery drain. i have come up a solution (thanks to my online friend). he says that charging in a normal mode (charger plug into an outlet) and usb cable (charging in laptops etc..) have differences. and yes there is a big differences. usb charging is more longer battery life than normal mode. why? we don't know and still searching for the answer. how? just drain your battery and charge it in usb cable, wait til it shows 100% battery full. you can see big difference. and also uninstall unnecessary apps that not you usually use. even system apps. turn off sync, gps (if not use).

we base this in our daily use. im running RemIcs base on cm9 so there's no big difference in rom. :)

Hi there,
@Dhiru I want to report something to you. I was following this thread since ALPHA 3. In Between I have notice that during ALPHA 6 To ALPHA 11 Battery Life was amazing. We are able to get 2 Days Battery Backup even in ICS. While there we were using Old Samsung Kernel Sources which are used until ALPHA 11. And When TI Release new Value Pack Kernel Sources We moved To new one From ALPHA 12. And Battery Drain Problems get started every body here started posting about Battery Drain problem. Even You Revert Back to old Samsung sync fix battery drain decreased but still persist. From ALPHA 12 to ALPHA 14 we can Have Maximum only 1 days Battery Life. Same for Jelly Bean also.I have attache my Battery Pictures of A14 here. You can see I have no wakeclocks and full network signal and its my10th battery cycle still i get 8% battery lose without using phone in 2 hours 45 minutes and about 20% battery lose during night.

So i conduct test and went back to A11 and after first battery cycle only 3% battery lose during whole night (8 hours 30 minutes without wakecloks and full network signal). Pictures are attached below.

Major change during A12 to A14 is new kernel sources.If new sources do not have any significant change then we should use old sources.So I strongly believe that by using old Samsung kernel sources we can have good battery life in ICS and also in Jellybean Rom.Thanks man for your efforts towards this community. Have Happy Weekend :laugh:.

Yes, I confirm, 24h is maximum

As I already posted, Gtalk is not working with your new front camera fix, but it seems that the problem is only with the "320x240" preview size. Removing it from the supported preview size list in CameraHardware.cpp and so forcing Gtalk to use "640x480" fix the problem. I also checked the CameraHal.cpp included in the update2 released by Samsung:
Code:
p.set(p.KEY_SUPPORTED_PREVIEW_SIZES, "640x480,176x144");
p.set(p.KEY_SUPPORTED_PICTURE_SIZES, "640x480");
I guess there are issues with that preview size.

And another thing:
sometimes the preview rotates for an instant during video calls, but I'm not using the experimental build, so maybe the issue is not related with your fix.

Great work by the way, as always.

That's interesting. Any other changes in the new Update2 source drop related to the camera?

I didn't notice anything relevant, but it's better if you take a look (these are the only files changed): camera.zip

Anyway I did notice something else.
1280x720 is not listed as supported preview (it never was).
Here some logs (stock ROM). As you can see, when you select 1280x720, the preview is resized in a such way that it perfectly fits our screen.

I think lowering the preview resolution will help the recording, but I'm not sure.
That should be what does the job, but I don't know how to use it, if it's really helpful etc. I don't know if you were already aware of this.

Anyway, a user reported issues with VPN networks. I think that's what we need (if you'll release another build with the same old kernel):
Code:
CONFIG_PPP=y
CONFIG_PPP_MULTILINK=y
CONFIG_PPP_FILTER=y
CONFIG_PPP_ASYNC=y
CONFIG_PPP_SYNC_TTY=y
CONFIG_PPP_DEFLATE=y
CONFIG_PPP_BSDCOMP=y
CONFIG_PPP_MPPE=y
CONFIG_PPPOE=y
CONFIG_PPPOLAC=y
CONFIG_PPPOPNS=y
CONFIG_SLHC=y

    CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.0 (ICS), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    #include <std_disclaimer.h>
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     */

    CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    I am currently working on implementing a custom Audio HAL which would eliminate the use of Samsung Audio Libraries.

    The HAL is based on the Nexus S Audio and it has FM Radio "Support" Included which would be useful in the future. Currently the HAL works perfectly except for the Microphone in applications and frequent audio shuttering. If this issues are fixed, we could have an entirely opensource audio implementation.

    After hours of coding, Auto Focus and Touch to Focus works perfectly. :D

    Good news guys. Got the Still Image capture to work. It works pretty fine with 5MP setting and the picture quality is amazing. I need to test in the daylight to see how it works.

    The EXIF info is still not implemented and that would be a headache. I will see to what I could do about it.
