Somewhere back in this thread I posted a link to my thread that explaines how to solve this issue... The SMS app does not have an input field for your smsc (sms center) number.

Or you can look at my user profile under all threads opened by me, there you will find it too. :D

EDIT: here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1625928

Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA

USB is working for me but it shows only internal memory of phone not my external SD card

Maybe this also the solution for the USB Mass Storage Support problem...

Finalllyyyyyy......solved it !!!!
To solve problem with External SDCard not detected, here is the file and solution

1. Download attached file. Extract it somewhere.
2. Replace it in /system/etc with Root Explorer
3. Change Permissions to rw- r- r
4. Reboot
5. ENJOY all your Music , Photos and Videos ;-)

Hope it helps everyone :)
Good Luck !

Looks like we are going to need the 3.0 kernel afterall. I have tried to add support for HWComposer which is included in ICS, but it fails due to kernel.

dsscomp refers to the OMAP DSS Composition support which is available in 3.0 kernel. I am currently trying to backport it. Lets see how far it goes. :D

god forbid but if suppose the backporting doesnt work....will that mean you will have to start from scratch but this time using kernel 3.0 ??? i mean you used kernel 2.6 because of its stability right ??? so that means all components of the rom will have to be fixed again ?????

one more thing...Doomlord had this to say : "on ARC/PLAY we use a patched 2.6.32.x kernel and it works well..."

so that means either he faced the same problem in the kernel and fixed it..or simply this issue is OMAP related.....

Now that napstar doomlord and vurrut are working on the kernel u could work together to port 3.0 kernel or do a patch to ours. With some help of codeworkx and dhiru's amazing work i think we wont have any problem

In the repo contains hwc especifics for omap3

the system boots, but ... creates some instability.
I guess more will make some adjustments.

Tried using the omx from the branch a while ago, but it seems like I have hit another 3.0 kernel deadend.

This time, it is related to ION, something that we don't have in the current kernel.:(

@dhiru
I am recently trying [AOKP] Carbon B36-RC1 and found these important things. May be they are of interest to you.

1. NO BACKLIGHT ISSUE.
2. Battery life is much better.
3. Phone properly goes into Deep Sleep mode.(check in Settings>Battery>Graph)
4. Android OS process is well within limits and not consuming much Battery.
5. Suspend process also not hitting very high CPU usage and consuming Battery (WatchDog Lite; Threshold 50%; Android and Phone processes)

I am sure it is not entirely due to new kernel. Some code optimization by AOKP ?
Whatever may be but it is solving few important issues.

Good Luck !

I am currently working on implementing a custom Audio HAL which would eliminate the use of Samsung Audio Libraries.

The HAL is based on the Nexus S Audio and it has FM Radio "Support" Included which would be useful in the future. Currently the HAL works perfectly except for the Microphone in applications and frequent audio shuttering. If this issues are fixed, we could have an entirely opensource audio implementation.

Good news guys. Got the Still Image capture to work. It works pretty fine with 5MP setting and the picture quality is amazing. I need to test in the daylight to see how it works.

The EXIF info is still not implemented and that would be a headache. I will see to what I could do about it.
